Resetting can help sometimes and this can be done by disconnecting the battery for 3-5 minutes and if that doesn't fix the problem then it's more than a computer issue and more likely a leaking injector

This is usually an indication that the valve body inside the trans mission is allowing for to much pressure to build. There is not much you can do about it without rebuilding the transmission.

How to check a fuel injection pressure damper

well i guess it's possible but you'd have to remove and bypass the fuel filter to get any dirt up there

ya know lots of times that somebody told me that the injection pressure was not right most of the time the cure was a New fuel filter
injection pressure can be read with a fuel pressure gauge thats connected to injector manafold with key cycled on/off a few times (caution there is high pressure there)
shield your eyes when dealing with anything on fuel side of engine

Hello,i bought a subaru outback 2002 from 3 months.and it's consuming more gas than normal.(130km/20 litre) could you please tell me what i have to change? and what is the normal consumption for this...

REPLACE AIR FILTER.CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS,CHECK TIRE PRESSURE.LOW TIRE PRESSURE WILL CAUSE LOT OF FUEL CONSUMPTION.CITY DRIVING WILL BURN LOT MORE GAS,STOPPING VECHICLE THEN GOING WILL CAUSE MORE GAS BURNING, YOU NEED POWER AND FUEL TO GET VECHICLE IN MOTION,BY IT BEING HOT WEATHER, USING AIR CONDITIONING TO KEEP COOL INSIDE WILL CAUSE MORE FUEL CONSUMPTION.

When was last tune up? Plugs, wires, all fluids & filters - especially fuel filter?? I'd start there and run a good fuel system cleaner through it.

Just a note on the fuel. Make sure you allow the fuel to return to the tank after you pull it out and regulate it at the carb. The injection style electric pump should not be dead head regulated. It is designed to flow continuously for cooling. I can get you diagrams, but all you need is ignition and choke power which already there at the coil so that should be pretty straight forward. The rest can just be removed and tied off. Which system did you want?

I have a 93 model a/t,diesel mitsubishi rvr. my problem is its so thirsty with fuel, about 5-6 km per liter. the injection pump was overhauled about 6months ago and it was about 8-9km per liter. i tried to...

You may have a faulty injector or two - or maybe a bad MAF sensor, among other things. A hands on diagnostic would narrow down the problem and as specialty equipment is needed you should take it to a shop that can scan the computer for codes and check the output of the sensor as well as noid lights to test the injectors for power. If you're running on a couple cylinders it will drink down the fuel - but it could also be as computer problem and you could throw a lot of money and bad words at it and still not have your vehicle running right. Good luck on this one!!

I've not heard of an "oil reset" like can be found on lawn mower engines.

Were the replaced items new or used?

Did you check the fuel pump fuse?

Is there a bleed port on the fuel injector rail, and if so, did you bleed the air from the fuel rail (this may be the reset that you were told about) ?

Have you driven through deep water?
Many possible faults, main ones are:-
Air or water in the diesel.
Use of Biodiesel/veg oil
Faulty injector (uncommon)
Crank Sensor
Leaking injector sealing washer.
Lift pump in fuel tank has broken up, particles may have reached injection pump and damaged it.

1994 Mistsubishi RVR Problem with engine performance....

mine is also a 4D56, struggles to go above 200rpm, partly due to engine fatigue (at more than 140,000 miles), but the main problem could be the fuel pump, not properly calibrated with the engine fuel intake system. Take the car to a garage and ask them to check the pump. also explains he rattling when idle.
