Question about 1999 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

I checked for blown fuses in my 1999 Buick Lesabre Limited and I turned my car on and the radio said ''loc''. I looked in the owners manual for assistance. It told me to enter the lock code that was the default or if I had a specialized code to enter it in. So I tried the obvious answer. Enter the code as 1999 the year of the car did not work. I just need to figure out what the default code is. I never set a code for it in the past.

It looks like it's a 6 digit code,according to a couple websites.
I did find a blog post where someone called the dealer and they provided it apparently at no cost so that is at least worth a shot if you haven't tried already. If they do not provide it though, below are a couple links that are fairly cheap anyhow. One site says it will tell you how to reprogram it,however,if you just use the given one and write it down, you should not have this issue again. Also it says if your battery loses power or gets disconnected that you will have to enter it then also.

Jump started the car. now interior lights won't come on when I open the any doors. Lighte will come on manually with the dash switch. Changed the fuses under the rear seat to no avail. worked fine before I...

Since your car was the one getting jumped there should be no damage, all I can think is if the batt. was flat dead it may have changed the settings on the body control computer,I would suggest
looking in the owners manual for dome light options ,I think the radio is the "remote control" for a lot of owner options like that.
Also make sure the chassis ground ( the smaller black wire on the neg.batt. terminal) is a good connection.

We dont have te owners manual to the car and the horns not working. we think it may be a fuse but dont know wich fuse to check

First of all, if your horns are not working, it is NOT CAUSED by a fuse! Fuses do not cause electrical system failures. Blown fuses are ALWAYS THE RESULT of an electrical system failure.

I took a radio from a 1999 buick lasabre cd/cas i put it in a 2002 buick lasab itre and shows loc

Hello: You have to use a scan tool to unlock the radio. I don't think you can put a 1999 radio in a 2002. In 2002 the VIN in the radio has to match the car VIN. (VIN=Vehicle Identification Number)

Where is taillight fuse on 1989 buick lesabre limited, its not in main fusebox

I believe that model has TWO fuse boxes. One in the glove box and one under the hood on the passengers side. Do you have the owners manual??? It should show where it is. Otherwise, try your local public library for a repair manual on that model Buick.

Code for the radio am and fm on security loc i was changing the battery and the radio won't come on it just reads loc

it needs to be called in to the MFG ..or dealer it is a anti theft deterrent and only a dealer can make the call ...Otherwise perhaps the previous owner wrote the code down in the Owners Manuel .

Just bought a nice used '92 Buick LeSabre Limited. NO Owner's Manual! I can't figure out how to set the damn CLOCK! Anyone care to fill me in on this??

Turn on the power knob for the radio/clock. Wait until the clock display shows up. Press "set" button and use the 'Scan' and 'Seek' buttons to set the time.

Good Luck

I have a 1999 Buick LeSabre and the power windows will not work

If none of your windows work, then I'd suggest checking the fuse.  Check your owners manual for the location.  Replace it if blown with the same amp fuse, DO NOT use a higher amp fuse!
