Sounds like your brakes pads may have gotten jarred pretty hard or a dust cover bent and scrapping the rotor, another possibility is your wheel bearing, good luck

Could be bad axle bearings if it is a "Woo, woo, woo" sound or bad differential if it is a high pitched whine sound.

2005 Ford Explorer is making a grinding noise

I had some issues with my 2005 explorer left rear. It was making a creepy old door sound at low speeds and then a high pitched whisel at high speeds. That turned out to be a broken wheel bearing and had it replaced. Note each wheel has two wheel bearings. After that a new noise developed that sounded like metal scraping/ grinding metal. It end up being the brake dust cover got bent when they replaced the bearing and it was rubbing something, the fix for that was bending it so it didn't rub. I hope this helps.

I was in a front end collision in my 2005 scion tc...my rear sway bar is making noise now...could this be from the accident? My insurance says no because its a unibody frame so the rear couldnot have been...

need to tell insurance company that you need to take it in and have it looked at, any accident will have unforeseen toll other parts of the car, just because it has a unibody frame does not mean that the rear end could not have been damaged in the accident

My 2000 Explorer makes a whirring sound when you accelerate - can this noise be due to a bent tierod? The previous owner had an accident involving the front end and was told that the tierod was haywire?

Typcially tie rods will only make a clunking noise or a squeak. The whirring sound if would suspect to be a wheel bearing. When you drive, slowly turn from left to right, if the pitch changes than its the bearing.

There is a good possibility that the rear end moved forward momentarily, taking with it the transmission tube, and pushing into the transmission housing, where it can do a lot of damage. When this happens, the two universal joints suffer as well, even to the point of one of them freezing.

Following rear end accident damage Battery goes flat.

I disagree with main dealer,YOU DO have a trickle surge, who ever did the repair should have checked your wiring loom from contacted copllision area back to your indicator clusters even your interior boot light ( normally the culprit ) have someone take both leads off battery, connect a meter to either treminal and remove each individual fuse, that will diagnose the problem area. good luck col leeds
