Take care of your cooling problem! Is it overheating? or just during normal operating temperature? If it is under normal operating temp you have a bad heat sensor!

When plowing the trans temp light comes on

I would install an external trans cooler. You figure that plow makes a nice air block for fresh air getting to the cooling pack. You have an AC condenser, probably a power steering cooler, trans cooler, radiator, and if it is a turbo diesel there will be an intercooler for the air to make it thru. If the truck already has a separate trans cooler that is not integrated into the radiator, I would think an electric pusher cooling fan might be the ticket.

Daughter while driving temp light came on. However less then 3 days ago had all fluids and oil changed any thoughts?

Hello, if the water in the radiator was quite low, before topping up, there could be an airlock in the system. Does the internal heater blow hot air? If it only blows cold air, even when the control setting is set to hot this indicates either low water level or air lock in the heater matrix or pipe feeds to it. Quite a few models have bleed valves on the pipe runs under the bonnet just before the bulkhead.
Hope this helps you.

I have a 97 dodge dakota just put a motor in it and now after driving for about 5 min trans temp light comes on and od off light comes on .trans is full of new fluid and all connections are good

OD probably is commanded to go off whenever the trans temp is high. Was the radiator connection plugged when the cooling lines were removed? Check to ensure they are connected to the radiator and were not kinked when the engine was removed.

Od/off trans temp light comes on. had fluid and

your trans cooler is restricted. most likely it is part of your radiator and if it is restricted you will either need to replace the radiator or install an aftermarket cooler. have your trans cooler flow checked and go from there

2004 dodge ram is over heating, the thermostat and fan clutch have been replaced.Doesn't(over heat) in cool weather, but will in mod. weather if driven over 70mph or hilly terrain due or increase of rpm,and...

Water pumps can stall out, but do you have air trapped in system.
Had you recently had the system "open" to replace hose, thermostat, temp sensor. Some Ford and GM have a bleeder screw on a high point in cooling system to bleed out trapped air.

Check your trans fluid color. Since the trans cooler is built into radiator (automatics)

IF the engine is overheating the trans CAN overheat
IF the trans is overheating the engine CAN overheat

They share the same cooling source and trans fluid gets hotter than oil, but yet it has a wimpy cooler built into radiator. Maybe add trans oil cooler to system.

Also outside temp affects the cool down rate of the radiator, air trying to cool down hot radiator/engine is less effecting than cool air cooling hot radiator/engine
