The only ground wire if it has one would be a ground strap from the frame that would connect to a starter mounting bolt to ground the housing of the starter.

Here is a diagram to help assist you for reference, and usually the wire with the small eyelet connector is purple, but it can also be pink, red, or brown, and there should only be one wire with a small eyelet connector.

All other wires with the large eyelet connectors including the positive battery cable connect together.

Which wires go where on a 2003 3.4 liter Chevy

There are three posts on the starter solenoid. Two large ones, and one small one. One of the large ones has a braided wire going into the starter. leave this one alone. On the other large ones, you will connect the positive battery cable as well as the large red wire coming from the alternator. The small purple wire connects to the small post on the solenoid. Lastly, on the engine block pointing the opposite way (towards the drivers side) is another stud and you will connect the negative battery cable to it.
Make sure that none of the wires can touch the other posts coming out of the solenoid.

Hi, there should only be 2 wires as shown below. What color is the third wire and where does it lead to?

Bought a new rebuilt starter for a 1996 chevy cavalier... My problem is one of the wires is black and has nothing on it so i dont know where too hook it up... i have a red wire with a big eye and a black...

Most likely goes on ignition side (small eye). If you connect it to large eye it will have power all the time. Small post (eye) only gets power when key is in start or run position. 2 big eye wires are input from battery positive & alternator feed.

Installing a starter on a 1965 delta 88 dont know which wire go on starter

There should be one large stud that the batter positive cable goes to. There should be a small stud marked with the letter, it gets the wire from the ignition switch which is usally green. If there is a small stud marked R it is usally left vacant but is sometimes used as a coil feed. There may be sevaral red wires or other colors which are fusible links and go on the battery term of the starter. Place the battery cable on the stud first and these on the top of it.
Good luck

Starter doesn't turn off at all over running. There is one small red wire on small bolt on solenoid. 3 other wires on big bolt I think and a small black wire that who knows where it might go. Friend took...

I dont have a diagram here at home but first check if at the starter, the wires on the big stud are somehow touching the wire for the small bolt. is voltage from the large bolt, goes to the little bolt, that energizes the starter.
