It sounds like you may have a bad connection somewhere. Start with your battery cables and then look at all of your ground wires as well. When you try to start your jeep see if the wires from the battery get hot.

The first thing you do is read the OBD2 fault codes and check the fuel pressure when it fails to start.

I have a 1994 jeep grand cherokee and it always starts up, but sometimes it just shuts off randomly while I'm driving and after a few minutes of rest turns back on, the battery will still be worki

Install a new crank shaft sensor. I had the same problem with my wife's Jeep. It would run fine fore days at a time then quit. When the crank sensor goes out their is no spark or injection of fuel into the engine. This is a Hall Sensor. They can be intermittent, and affected bu heat. If your Jeep will not start, try freeing the sensor and see if it starts. Cold Freeze is used in electronics to test

1994 jeep cherokee (5spd) wont start

Yah sure check the fuel pressure on the manifold, ur belt tension and altenator. But a very common problem with jeeps is the crankshaft positioning sensor. Check and make sure ur gettin fire. If ur not could also b the ignition control module in the distribitor.

1993 jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0

I have had this happen with the Jeep 4.0 motors because the rubber hoses going to the metal intake from the valve covers had cracks or were broken. Its been a while sine I've been under the hood of a 4.0 but that is a good place to start.

Wont start, has fuel, turns over, not flooded

When car wont start and turn over slowly there are two possible problems, its either the battery or the a bad starter, however if it turns over faster than normal then the possible problem is a broken timing belt or lack of compression.

Wont start

Is starter engaging but is turning the engine slowly then not turning engine? (that's what I'm reading) If so, check both connections at the block and starter. If reading proper voltage 12v or better, check voltage across battery when in "start" if it drops below 9.5v the starter has failed. (you can turn the engine by hand...correct?)

Taking a while to go into gear

Check the fluid level of the transmission. The model number in your vehicle is the A500,also designated the 42RE.With this trans, the fluid level is checked with the trans in Neutral, and the parking brake set, with the vehicle on level ground. If it is low on fluid, then there is a leak that must be located, and repaired.
