How did the wires get damaged? I don't think you can replace that, it is a solid harness all the way through the car. I don' know how a body shop would do it.I would get some heat shrink tubes and go to fixing what needs to be fixed and hope it stays. If you have to lengthen the whole thing to make the wires stretch, I would ad a piece of wire and leave the excess in the door, then the rest of the harness looks somewhat normal. Hope this helps.

Depending on where it broke
if outside the door you are talking thousands... assuming you can get the harness because to replace it requires gutting the front interior
if the harness in the door is needed, and you can still get the part then maybe less than $500

SOURCE: broken wire in drivers door for power windows

Yes. You can remove the inside door panel fairly easily. There should be several (2-6) plastic covers or cap (behind door handle, where the door is covered with the dash, as well as other hiding spots). Remove these cap and the screws/bolts behind them. After you have found and removed all of the screws/bolts you should be able to lift up and the door panel and remove it. it may be a little tough, but DO NOT force it, you may have missed one of the screw/bolts, look again. When you get the door panel off, be careful that you don't rip the wires from your electric controls (pwr windows/locks).

Windows on passenger side front and rear won't work, up or down.

He could have been more helpful and explained it's likely some broken wires in the door openings. Check carefully the wire harness in the front driver's door and in the passenger front door, where wires get stressed the most when opening and closing doors. The driver's window switch is the master switch for all windows, check there and the other doors openings for broken wires. Splice back together any broken wires you find and recheck windows. Hope you find it. If not there, but somewhere else in the harness, you would probably need professional help to find it.

Power door cable replacement 2005 dodge grand carvan passenger door.

Sound like you having an issue with the sliding door. This is a common issue on this model. It can possibly be the cable or wiring harness. Its most likely the wiring harness because it gets strained a lot from repetitive bending. The harness is about $300 including labor, depending what location your in. The cable I could not find a price on because it looks like its a dealer part only.

This problem could be diagnosed easily two ways.
1. Swap passenger side for driver side harnesses and see if it works.

2. Use multimeter to test continuity between the ends of the harness.

- Disconnect the battery. I proceeded to unplug the harness on the car side which is behind plastic panel attached to the pillar between the front seat area and back sear area.

- Unplugged the harness on the motor/door side. Put your meter on ohms or continuity and test between both ends of the plugs all wires for continuity.
-If the passenger harness has the same is they you can access the cable there.
- Slide the door shut and open for each wire. There are approximately 8 or 9 wires in the plug. Most of the wires are smaller and there were 2-3 that are a larger gage.
-What ever wire is determined to not be working replace the broken link with new wire, soldering or carefully crimping.

Hope this gave you some insight!

The Drivers side power Sliding door is not working correctly. Stops after moving 4 inches. will not re-engage unless door is secured, then same problem all over againm.

The most likely problem with your door is a broken wire in the sliding door track harness. Sometimes it is difficult to see the damaged wire, but this is a VERY common problem with these vehicles. The track harness is located in the lower portion of the door opening. It looks like a plastic chain with the wire harness inside. This design is to allow the wires to move with the door, which in turn usually causes the wires to break due to repeated bending. The harness is very easy to replace for someone with basic mechanical skills.

2003 Ford Explorer Limited. Door ajar light displays when rear defroster is turned on

I had the exact same problem with my 2003 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. Each time I pressed the rear defrost button, the door adjar light came on. The problem was a broken ground wire in the wiring harness that ran into the drivers side door. Pull the rubber boot back on the wiring harness between the drivers door and and body and look for broken wires. There are a lot of wires so you will have to look very close. I inserted a 1 1/2 inch wire splice to reconnect the black wire and everything now works fine. This splice also fixed the problem with the drivers side- side view mirror light. I have researched and discovered that many Explorers have this problem.

If the other door works then the fuse is good. Before replacing the motor try twisting on the harness that goes from the door a disappears into the inner fender, wires in this harness get broken off from the tears of twisting when the door is opened and shut.

It is not a fuse. All of the windows are on thje same circuit. You either have a bad window motor, or a bad driver side door master window cantrol switch.

Power windows, door locks and mirrors inop.

Sounds familiar - I pulled the rubber boot back and found the black wire was broken. I stripped the wires and put on a couple bullet connectors (terminators) and all is good. Just wish I would have seen this post before I took the door panel off... Oh well...
