This is normal. When cold, the engine is in "fast idle" to warm up the engine more quickly. Solution: allow engine to warm up.

if you have an exaust leak it can set a code
due to the O2 sensor will no get the correct reading and it will be out of the range
so yes it would set a code

How do i change the transmission filter on a 2000 oldsmobile intrigue?

drop the pan off the transmision and let all the fluid drain out. the filter will be right there shouldnt have any bolts in it but make sure and pull it slowly out of its slot and replace with a new one then put a new gasket on the pan and put it back together

I changed the engine computer (brain) in my 2000 olsmobile intrig

need to have it flashed preferable at car dealership

I believe they like to charge a unborn child and two pony;s for this service but sometimes you can get a deal ...maybe one teen ager one pony two houses will work for the average dealership shop 120 an hour is their standard fee !@@#% $120 an hour for sluggo and bubbah to hack away at your car nice huh? go find a union steward and b>>> slap them lol they will tell you They are ASE certified HUH ? Make sure the coolant is full, and your fans are coming on. Besides that, could be a bad thermostat, or radiator.

Transmision does not move on d but on 1 it moves

Check the fluid., check it while engine is running and warm. Drive it around the block or to the store and check it when you get back while its on a level surface. Do you ever see leaks on the ground under your car and have any of them stopped recently, could be low on or out of fluid. (Can never be all the way out of fluid, but way too low.)
