This vehicle most likely has a bad mass air flow sensor this is something i see alot of on all nissans is the service engine soon light or check engine light on if so have codes read may have a mass air flow code stored as for mechanis checking fuel line and filter any vehicle that comes in our shop 1996 and above with a driveability problem automatically gets hooked to a scanner and checked for diagnostic trouble codes good luck and hope this helps

also needs to check actual fuel pressure a bad fuel pump or a bad mass air flow meter may not set a code or turn on light but can cause these symptoms

Cant find fuel filter on 2005 maxima se

Car companies have stopped using in-line fuel filters in the past few years. Another way to save a dollar or two.
Your car only has a screen in the fuel tank for the pump.

99 nissan maxima gas ran low next moring tried to crank would not start put gas in tank only crank when put gas into intake then cut off

Its possible you have air in the fuel line which would take a while to run out. Its also possible you clogged up the screen in the tank for the pump.
A mechanic would check fuel pressure at the injectors and probably replace the fuel filter.

96 skylark starts then shuts off

Could be many things. First things that comes to mind is the fuel filter, second is carburetor. Sounds like it isn't getting sufficient fuel. This could be the result of debris in the cas tank coming up through the gas line and gettting stuck in the filter. There are really other things that could go wrong. Check and ensure with someone helping that when you press the gas pedal that the linking is properly moving the mechanism on the carburetor and make sure the butterfly valve is opening. Try spraying some WD40 on the valves moving parts if they seem to be sticking.

Why do you have to pump the gas line before the car starts?

I don't understand, It's fuel injected, check the fuel pressure, I bet your fuel pump is weak or the fuel filter is clogged, fuel pressure for your car is 43 psi.
You need to replace the fuel filter when replacing the fuel pump so change it first, save ya money if it's just a dirty filter.

Truck shuts off while driving

Well, if the truck is carburetored, the filter is located in the carb, where the fuel line connects. If its fuel injected, the filter is located under the truck, on the frame rail, between the tank and engine.

Have a 1999 nissan max,I am somewhat mechanically inclined and have checked all the fuses.I checked one of the plugs an it does have fire.I pulled the line off the fuel filter and fuel did come out when i...

That sounds like a smililar problem i had. If you pull the fuel line off of the fuel filter, gas should shoot across the parking lot. Not trickle out like a water fountain. My 99 maxima did the same thing and what I found the problem was, was that the fuel line on top of the fuel pump it's self inside the gas tank and blown off. Because nissan put a stupid squeeze clamp on it instead of a screw tight clamp. Pull your the top of your sending unit off and I guarentee you it's not connected to the fuel pump. What's happening it the engine is running off of suction from the gast tank which is why it's only comming out like a water fountain. reconnect the hose back to the fuel pump and put a screw clamp on it prime the system back up and it should start.

1989 jeep grand wagoneer--no gas getting to carb.--

That may be right - no gas in the carb is likely a bad fuel pump, or a clogged fuel filter.
