Question about 2003 Lincoln Aviator
2003 lincoln aviator. 81000 miles. Should NOT be ticking!! Everytime i crank it, it has a severe, loud knock/tick. It is worse at times and sometimes you cant hear it at all. I am afraid to drive it.
I always use 91octane and frequent oil changes..but still the tic tic tic.. finaly my mechanic used lucas motor oil treatment and today is the first day of engine silence.. we shall see for how long.. but seems like a cheap fix... try it.

If the oil filter is stopped up,this would explain the problem,if the oil was just changed,if anything besides 5w 30w oil was used, this could be the problem,or the oil pump,is not pumping the oil.
