Generally the trans pan is first to leak on any transmission. If the perimeter of the pan espeacially the mounting bolts are wet with red fluid change the filter and gasket. Add transmission fluid as recommended in the owners manual also
If the leak is between the engine and the trans the front pump seal or pump seals need replacement.
If leaking at the axle shafts the axle seals need replacing

My 2002 acura MDX a/t temp signal light came on. Seen smoke drove a short distance parked it seen fluid leaking on ground most. Leak was by the left tire and to the back

you need to take to a repair shop as leaking fluid of any sort isn't going to do the vehicle any good, from your brief description it may be transmission fluid leaking ,dont drive further than the repair shop or better still get the vehicle towed to the repairer

Transmission fluid & radiator fluid keeps getting low. know approx. where leak is, drivers side front on inside of front tire. would a leak in radiator cause trans. fluid to leak also from radiator?...

Your transmission fluid runs to your cooling system to cool the transmission oil. So, in answer to your question, one of the two transmission lines (one in, bottom and one out, top) could be leaking from the cooling system.

Bring your vehicle in for a cooling system pressure check. Another thing to keep in mind when inspecting leaks is that where you see the leak may not necessarily be where the leak is from. While the leak will drip down, the wind from when you're driving will splatter the leak all over the under-carriage of your vehicle making it look like leaks are happening where they in fact, are not.

I have had my rear main seal replaced 3 times and it is still leaking. Could this leak be coming from somewhere else? The first mechanic assumed it was the rear main seal, and the others I informed them...

First off i would hope that there was some waranty coverage for this repair.

Is the fluid leak indeed oil (black/brown)? If so that would be the rear main. Problem could be the surface around the seal on the engine has a defect or space.

If the fluid leak is a reddish color this is transmission fluid and would be the torque convertor leaking not the rear main.

Good Luck!

Leaking Transmission Fluid???

The pan gasket may have small rip in it. You can either replace the gasket. or get a bottle of tranny stop leak and put in. You should change your tranny filter once a year!

Transmission leak

would be coming out the pan gasket? these are really pretty simple to change unless its leaking from a servo either way i would take it to a transmission shop for a second opinion if you dont feel comfortable changing it yourself and i think you'll find if its a pan gasket most transmission shops will change fluid and filter with gasket for under $100 good luck

Leaking transmission fluid

This problem if left unrepaired can cost you thousands of dollars.
Transmission fluid will typically be red in color,,and will leak from near the center of the underside of the car.
Take it into a repair center as soon as you can

2004 Dodge Grand Caravan Water pump

If it's red, it's transmission fluid. Coolant would be green. Check the fluid level, don't let it get low, Chrysler minivans are prone to transmission troubles, and low fluid levels over time will ruin a a transmission. And be sure not to overfill, it's just as bad for the trans. Have the leak checked out and repaired, good luck
