Question about Chevrolet Tahoe

1 Answer

When im driving my 02 tahoe, sometimes when i stop and make a left turn pressing the accelerator to give it gas to speed up to like 5 or 10 miles per hr and when i let the gas goes reaching to that speed. it gave it a hard kick like if somebody barley hit ur truck from the back. and when i stop and go it does it again. but when i park and turn it off. then turn it back on it will stop. until later when i keep driving it it will do it again. i check the transmission fuild and it good, and i change the transmission speed senor to. and it still does the samething when i drive and make a turn. can you tell me why?

Flow valve in the transmission is sticking most likely.this is usually caused by some other failure creating metal particals that should not be in the system.Good luck!

94 gmc 4x4 1500 overdrive sometimes works

Check for a transmission speed sensor fault (OBDII scan). Loss of speed sensor signal will result in no torque converter lock up, and no overdrive. Also transmission filter should have been changed at 80,000 miles. Age of your vehicle(1994) warrants the filter service. Transfer case (4WD) needs to be serviced as well.

It sounds like one or both of the drive axle inner joints are worn out. This condition will give a very pronounced vibration on acceleration only and will be worse with increased speed.

Accelaration loss of power

I'd have a fuel pressure test done to be sure, it isn't fuel related again. Takes 5 or 10 minutes so cost should be minimal. The other thing that comes to mind is a plugged exhaust. (catalytic converter) Quite possible on a 10yr.old vehicle.

Acceleration - cannot get above 40 miles per hr.

If the engine revs up while in drive and running at 40mph, your transmission is probably slipping. Try checking your transmission fluid level. If it is OK, I would get it by a garage to have them look at it to cofirm.
