You can try by putting graphite powder into the lock, put it on the edge of the key & push into the lock, you may have to do this several times to get enough in, this will free the lock if it is sticking,if this don't work you may have other problems with the lock & need to see a locksmith......hope this helps....cheers

Does the emobilizer and key have to be replaced if the wrong key was put in ignition and had to be pulled and wiggled pretty hard to remove now it wont start

When you turn the ignition switch to ON(II), the immobilizer system indicator should come on for a few seconds, then go out. If the indicator starts to blink, it means the system does not recognize the coding of the key. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK(0), remove the key, reinsert it, and turn the switch to ON(II) again. If the system repeatedly does not recognize the coding of your key will need a repair.

Key won't turn and steering is lock on a 1990 Oldsmobile Calais?

Try to wiggle the steering wheel as you turn the key, the wheel may have some force on the lock so turn wheel to the right and try to turn key then turn left and try the key again. if this doesnt work then the ignition is worn and you will need to wiggle the key to get it to start also try to spary a little wd40 in the ignition key hole and work the key inside the ignition.

My keys open the door but wont let me start my car

insert your key into the ignition, try wiggling the steering wheel at the same time trying to turn your key to start. sometimes ignitions lock when the vehicles parked in a bind or on hill or wheels turned hard one way or other. you can also try flipping your key over and inserting it into the switch. it really seems to me that your problems a locked wheel though. if you have some 3in 1 household oil,it would'nt hurt to oil that key.hope this helps, and please let us know. as always, you can repost your question for more input from other experts.thank you for choosing

I can't start my car because my key won't turn, the steering wheel locked up

You have to wiggle the steering from side to side once it is locked. While wiggling it about try to turn the key at the same time.

Ignition has locked and the key won't turn

Try spraying some kind of lubricant in the key hole (WD-40, etc.). Push the key in and out of the ignition switch several times to move the lubricant around. Then, while trying to turn the key, wiggle the steering wheel back and forth. You might have to wiggle pretty hard. If it still doesn't work, you may have to replace the ignition lock assembly.
