Question about 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

Almost no air comes through the vents on my 2002 Grand Cherokee limited with dual air controls. Blower motor checks out fine. Diagnostics says recirculator door is broken, but when I check it by sticking my finger against the door and pushing the recirculation button the door moves. Where can I get a diagram of the recirculator door so that I can better diagnose the problem? Is there anything sle that might be the problem?

SOURCE: How to replace a recirculation door on a 2002

There are three ways to go about this problem:
1.- remove the dashboard and the HVAC box. This options would be used when you will be changing other items, like the heater core, evaporater, etc.
2.- ...other way it to remove the dashboard only. Then remove just the recirculation door housing, leaving the HVAC box in place. This option could be used to replace the recirc door only and use the existing recirculation door housing. Or to replace both the recirc door and housing with new parts.
3.- Finally, option is to do a NO Dash Removal - thru the glove box fix. This would be used if you can not or do not want to remove the dashboard. This repair does not put the recirc door back to normal working condition. It is a means to either stop the draft from coming thru the recirc door housing on the passenger side, or to relief the blocked airflow problem. SOURCE: Blower works intermittently. The

Check where the wires go into the blower housing. There is usually what appears to be a small plate held by 1 or 2 screws that the wires plug into. This is the speed control resistor. If it's going bad, it will cause the problem you describe.

2000 jeep grand cherokee, only blow out a little air even when the blower on hi,,you have to put your hand next to the vent to feel the air

you may have had something fall down into the defrost vent and it has worked its way down and is blocking the air flow thats trying to come out the vents, near the blower motor.also does it sound like the blower motor is spinning on high speed or at a lower speed, you could have a slow turning blower motor.

REPLACED BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL MODULE...Now blower is working but not very much air flowing out of vents! Fan speed is heat and cools. but still not adequate air flow from the vents ..2000...

check your blower hoses to see if one or more have come loose or got redirected or the selector switch isn't functioning properly (is it blowing better on defrost as opposed to floor vents, or forward vents, etc.)
Good luck

Check all fuses. If o/k check for 12 volts at the blower motor. If no power at blower the system has to be traced to find where the power quits. Hope this heps.

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the automatic climate control option. Within the last few weeks, I have noticed cold air seeping under the passenger side dashboard, near the blower...

It could be a poor seal but I've never seen it. What you could have is a fresh air door not closing properly. Fresh air door/recirculation same thing.
