There are three ways to go about this problem:
1.- ...is remove the dashboard and the HVAC box. This options would be used when you will be changing other items, like the heater core, evaporater, etc.
2.- ...other way it to remove the dashboard only. Then remove just the recirculation door housing, leaving the HVAC box in place. This option could be used to replace the recirc door only and use the existing recirculation door housing. Or to replace both the recirc door and housing with new parts.
3.- Finally, option is to do a NO Dash Removal - thru the glove box fix. This would be used if you can not or do not want to remove the dashboard. This repair does not put the recirc door back to normal working condition. It is a means to either stop the draft from coming thru the recirc door housing on the passenger side, or to relief the blocked airflow problem.
