You checked the charging voltage at the battery with a ? volt meter ? What was the voltage with the vehicle running ? 13.1 to 14.1 volts ?
BATTERY NOT CHARGING The IPC illuminates the battery not charging indicator in the driver information center when the following occurs:
?€¢
The PCM detects that the generator output is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination.

?€¢
The IPC determines that the system voltage is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the body control module (BCM) indicating the system voltage

WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM WITH MY 2000 GMC YOKON XL WHEN A REDUCED ENGINE POWER MESSAGE COMES ON THE MESSAGE CENTER

A sensor within the car's computer system has detected a possibly major problem. The system then puts the engine into "limp mode" so that it can be driven to a repair station. Driving in this condition will only increase the damage. Highly recommend you take to reputable mechanic immediately for computer diagnostic.

Engine fails to start

What makes you think the battery is charged sufficiently? My guess is that your battery doesn't have enough power to crank the engine (just because all the lights come on doesn't mean the battery is good enough to crank the engine). Try jumpstarting the car, or charging the battery. If your car starts, then your battery is getting old, it's time to replace it.

2006 Ford Taurus Charging error message and Battery light

What error message are you receiving? If you are talking about your check engine light (CEL) then you will need to clear the codes for it to go away, or it must be driven through a series of specific events for the computer to clear itself, just take it down to your local auto store and have them scan and clear codes. At 14.5v you should not get the battery light, you may want to check your wiring to your ECM. With your old alternator running at 16v I would say it is possible something was damaged. I know many manufacturers do not protect the computer from spikes from alternators, I have seen this twice in the field, and actually had personal experience as well. This will require much more knowledge about your vehicle and electricity to understand what pins to test and what you should be looking for.

1999 mercury villager

Alternator and battery light on indicates the system is not charging. If you can still start the villager, drive it to a parts store, where they can check the condition of the battery, and see if the alternator is not charging properly. They can also attach a scan tool to the cars diagnostic port and read any trouble codes stored on the car's computer, which will give you the info you need to determine why the check engine light is on. These are all free services provided by the major parts stores. You don't mention if you have driven the villager since the lights are on, check to make sure the serpentine/fan belts have not broken, as this would cause the lights to go on, and the car will overheat if driven. Good luck, updates appreciated. Post any codes or further questions here if needed.

Without knowing the year of your truck, I'm assuming that it is a 2000 or newer and has a message center on the left side of the of the instrument panel.

If it was an orange square, with no writing in it, then it was probably the Battery warning light, which illuminates when there is a problem with the charging system. The engine coolant light would more than likely be a message that says TEMP, and the check engine light would be shaped like an engine (both would be in the message center).
