Does overheating damage the piston after having the problem fixed?

The piston can only be damaged during the overheating condition. It is possible, and makes sense, that the damage to the piston was discovered during the test drive.

What causes my 2001 mitsubishi GDI car to be firing only on number 2 and 3 cylinders

Check to see if #1 &4 use a common coil pack. If so, = likely culprit.

I HAVE JUST PURCHASED A BOTTLE COOLER, INTERLEVIN MODEL PD 100, BUT CANT SEEM TO ADJUST THE TEMPERATURE FROM THE FACTORY SETTINGS

Hi Paul
If it's not cooling from brand new there may be other issues than just the controller. The best bet is to contact Interlevin (01332 850090) on Monday if you have not found the issue and ask to speak to their service dept. you can also email them service@interlevin.co.uk (they won't be in until Monday though)

I'm answering this as I'm their sales manager

2and3 cylinder not firing

Have you checked compression ?
Both engines are interference style which means you can damage the valves if the belt breaks while the engine is running.

What is compression suppose to be on 1988 ford 250xlt 351 winser

180 psi is good, but depends on the life of the engine, if yours is 150 psi all the rest of the cylinders have to be within 20% of the highest compression cylinder, so your allowed 120 psi on one of the other cylinders, it takes 80 psi to fire the cylinder anything less it will not fire.

I need the firing order diagram of a 1990 Buick LeSabre? I also need to see a diagram of what wire goes to what plug? Replacing ignition coil and module ?

I would ask a buick car dealer. Someone in the service dept should know. Maybe one day you could just drop by there, go to the service dept and ask the guy at the service desk. He can pull out a service manual and in about two min. tell you everything.

1 and 3 cylinders are not firing. My car will turn over but won't start. Thanks James

Normal firing sequence is 1-4-3-2 without all the spark plugs firing in this order you will cause problems with strain on the crankshaft don't keep trying it.

If you have thyristor drive then you will need a Krypton tune to sort this out.

If it uses a distributor is is possible that the contacts are damaged or not set to the correct feeler distance.

I suggest first you buy a full set of four HQ spark plugs and then try it again then check the above.
