By bad battery, do you mean that it is sluggish and won't crank at normal speed?

Check your battery cables - particularly the black earth cable where it attaches to the engine block/bodywork. Clean and retighten if necessary. A 'poor earth' can cause starting problems.

Failing that, get somebody with booster cables to try and boost start your car. If your car starts it's pointing towards your battery failing ...

2003 Kia Sedona start everything lights up on the dash it won't turn over

Do the simple things first: Suspect the battery. A battery that is almost completely dead will still illuminate all the lights on your dashboard.

Your first port of call is to check the cables on the battery - loosen and retighten them just to make sure they have good connectivity (particularly the black earth cable .. a poor earth can cause the problems you describe. Also check the earth cable where it attaches to the engine block/bodywork).

If still no go, get somebody to give you a boost start. If your car starts with a boost but later won't start under its own battery power .. get the battery checked/replaced as necesssary

I get fule but the car wont turn over what could ir be

If the engine won't crank at all check your battery leads for cleanliness and tightness - particularly the black earth lead where it also connects to the bodywork/engine block.

If the engine still won't crank get somebody to boost-start your battery using their car. If your car then cranks and fires up it is probably your battery at fault: either discharged or it has failed.

If your car won't crank when being boosted it may well point to a cable/start motor/solenoid problem

What happens when you hook a care battery up backwards?

Hello Glen, Bad bad things can happen when you hook up a car battery backwards. If your car has a high quality electrical system it might only blow out one or two main fuses. If not, it can cause havoc on the wiring system and burn out the alternator, computer, sensors, modules, and stereo system to name a few.

Saturn jumper cables hooked up backwards

Try charging the battery more. Even though your lights may come one, starting a vehicle requires massive amounts of amperage from the batter. It's possible that your jumper cables aren't a thick enough guage to supply enough power as well. Sometimes the vehicle you're jumping from might not have enough power to support your vehicle's starting power requirements.

Car will not start, tried boosting, just clicking

The starter solenoid has packed up , you need to replace it. To find out where it is get somebody to turn the key as if to start and you have the bonnet or hood lifted and you will hear the click coming from the solenoid. Best of luck
