Pls check the relay, located in the fuse box in engine bay (right side).

If u think the relays are working for sure and the fan does not go on, then it could be the fan motor not functioning and in that case u will have to change the fan motor (changing complete fan will be lot cheaper).

Overheating! The van has new radiator, fluid, cap, heavy duty water pump, tsat, fan clutch. BTW the heads were redone not to long ago.

Did you change the thermostat? If not opening properly or far enough, that could be the cause of your overheating.

Use heater full blast with windows open to add additional cooling till you locate the source of the problem.

93 nissan quest overheats

i would replace thermostat and also check to see if fan motor is running. Best way to check fan is to turn on the defrost and fan should kick on. flushing radiator would help and also check for leaks in the coolant system. hoses, heater core, waterpump. Hope this help and good luck

When we turn on our heater on the temp is fine but when we turn the heater off the van overheats.

You may have an engine cooling fan that isn't working. When you run the heater you are removing some heat from the cooling system which aids in keeping the engine cool. If the cooling fan in front of the radiator isn't working then the engine can overheat at slower speeds when there isn't any air being forced through the radiator by the forward motion of the vehicle. If this problem is happening only at slow speeds then I would suspect a cooling fan BUT if it happens at steady speeds over 35 mph you may have a different problem.Hope this helps and good luck!

My 2003 gmc safari cargo van has been trying to overheat when I turn ac on what could it be?

If your gmc safari cargo van overheats when the ac is on, your radiator and cooling system may be clogged and not working at peak efficiency.

Make sure your radiator cooling fan goes on as soon as you turn the a/c on.

Overheating

If you haven't flushed your radiator, i would recommend this asap. i would also inspect the water pump and thermostat as well. replace both components if found to be faulty.

Make sure the cooling fan is operational. it should cycle on and off if the air condition is activate.

When idling saturn ls 4dr sedan wants to overheat

Sounds like either you are low on coolant or the cooling fan isn't working. With engine cool remove radiator cap and check coolant level, top off if necessary. If full start engine and turn on A/C full blast, full cold the cooling fan should come on almost instantly, unless there are two individual cooling fans in which case only one may turn on. If no fans turn on check all fuses whether related to fan or not. If all fuses fine try swapping relays around, they are usually all the same size/style. If fan still doen't work you have either an open positve or ground side of the circuit, Which will require wiring schematics and a multimeter. If coolant full and fan/s turn on and engine still overheats you'll need a new thermostat installed.

Radiator fan!

run 12 volts direct to fan motors one at a time if they do not come on then the fans are bad if they do come on then the issue is from the fan harness back through the system

Another problem....

Have the responsible party re-connect the fan cabling for starts. If it's sensor related, or if you need new fan(s) will determine your outlay on this project...accordianman
