My problem is when driving, the engine rattles bad especially when accelerating, I had noticed my oil level looked empty

Most engines take at least 5 quarts of oil. Have you check the dip stick to see how much is in there?

I changed the oil, how many quarts should i put back in. i have a 92 sl1 i believe. 4 door, sohc

With a filter change along with the changing of oil. I would start with four quarts, than start the engine let it run for a second. After that turn it of check the oil, and top off as necessary. Roughly guessing I would say it holds about 4 1/4 quarts. Or could take up to five, its safe to start engine after four quarts. BE SURE to start engine after four quarts for 10-20 seconds, and then turn off to recheck. Too much oil can be catastrophic. (if no oil is showing on the dipstick than it is more than one quart low. The lowest point on dipstick represents one quart low, the middle is half a quart, and full is full) :)

How many quarts or oil do my 2000 dodge interpid take???

Most engines four cylinder and six cylinder are going to have a five quart oil pan. Put in four and a half quarts start the engine for a couple of minutes and shut it back off. Check the dipstick. Nine times out of ten you will need to put in the remaining one half of the fifth quart. Dodge recommends SAE 5W-30 oil in the 3.3-liter engine and SAE 10W-30 oil in the 3.5-liter engine. Selecting the proper oil for your engine will ensure that the components of your engine are protected.

How many quarts of oil in 5.0 mustang gt

The 5.0L engine comes with a 5 quart oil pan. I have a 95 mustang and I have a 7 quart oil pan installed on it. If there was a previous owner that has done any work to your car be aware of that. It wasn't until 96 that mustangs came stock with a 6 quart oil pan on the 4.6L engine. I would put 5 quarts in with out worry. start the engine for a bit, shut it back off and check the oil again before taking it out on the road. Do not only put 3 quarts in it and feel safe with it.

How much oil do i put in my truck right after i do an oil change auto zone said 3 buckets of oil . but isnt that too much for an ford f250 94-95

The most these trucks take is six and a half U.S. quarts of oil.The safest way to know for sure is to drain all the oil out, remove and install a new oil filter, then install five quarts of your preferred oil.Start the vehicle up and let it run for thirty seconds, then turn it off.Pull the dipstick out and check the level with the engine not running, then top off the oil as necessary.Run it for five minutes to verify that there are no oil leaks, Then Happy Motoring!!! Hope I could help!!!

I don't know how much oil i need for an oil change

With oil filter you'll need 5 quarts. After changing oil and filter run briefly and check for leaks. Shut down the engine and check oil level is correct.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom
