Power will only be supplied to fuel pump if the Pump Sensor is receiving ignition pulses from the Distributor. Check sensor and wiring to it from distributor.

My 99 Gmc jimmy will not start. the fuel pump is good the fuel filter is not clogged, i replaced the neutral safety switch, plugged in my code reader no codes, i believe it is the starter or the ignition...

Does it crank or not? If no crank then look at the starter or ignition switch. If crank but no start then look at the ignition system. Check for spark at the plugs and also check the fuel pressure. If there is spark try spraying a little starting fluid into the intake. See if it starts and stays running. If it stays running reply back and I will explain why.

2000 rodeo will not crank checked fuel pump and relays they are good .When I bypass relay it runs fine anyone know whats wrong

Sounds like the relay isn't receiving it's signal power to close and activate the main power to the fuel pump. Test to make sure it's getting the power when you first turn on the key [ The PCM will turn it off after a few seconds if it dosen't sense a imput from the Crank Sensor that the engine is running ]. If there's no power there, first look for a blown fuse and make sure there's power to the fuse, if not then you will have to test back thru the circuit to find the cause [ also check the igntion switch].

Spray some starting fluid into engine intake air duct while crankingengine over. If it tries to start good possiblity fuel pump is bad. (In fuel tank). However if it does not problem lies somewhere other than fuel system

My car just cut off and would not start I changed the coil pack tha crank sensor and igntion module. Fuel filter ana car won't still start

try looking at the fuse behind the glove box and find the one for the fuel pump, if its blown and fuel pump is good then the oil pressure switch is not working, oil pressure switch is connected with the fuel pump for prime. but if that isnt it,then the last thing is the computer that runs the car. i would check auto parts store and see how much it would cost.

Van won't start, Chugs but no running, been getting worse

My first guess would be fuel pump, use a hammer to rap in the middle of the fuel tank at the same time get someone to try & start it. Sometime you can get them to start, if it starts its a fuel pump failure. Also get some to turn on the igntion, but dont crank it over while you listen for the buzz sound of the fuel pump, if its pump failure you will not hear it. Unfortunately summer heat brings out fuel pump failure, I have replace 4 in the last week. Good luck

Fuel pump relay

In the fuse box, (under the hood), lower right corner. C1051....if you think its bad, there are others like it in the fuse box you can swap with. If the fuel pump doesnt work, be sure to check the INERTIA SWITCH. I cant tell you how many fuel pumps are replaced because no one checked that switch. If the Inertia Switch is good, have someone rap on the bottom of the fuel tank while you are cranking the engine over, if it starts then, the fuel pump is bad.

It will not start. We changed the fuel pump three times. Each time the new fuel pump will not hum or buzz when you turn the igntion.

Did you check the fuel pump wiring harness, fuel pump ground , power to the fuel pump, fuel pump fuse , fuel pump relay

Do you know where or if a 2000 Mazda 626 has a fuel pump cut off switch. According to the parts store it doesn't have a fuel pump relay. I have replaced the fuel pump and the car still won't crank. I am...

Hello, I am going to make a few assumptions here. The vehicle has an electric fuel pump and you replaced it. The vehicle has fuel injection. The engine is actually cranking, just not starting, when you say "car still won't crank". You are getting fire to the spark plugs at the plug ends. You checked the fuel pump for power at the pump. No power, then you back traced the wire to the fuse block and checked the fuse to see if it was blown. If the fuse is good back trace the power to the ignition switch and/or ECM for power. You have power at the pump, check the ground and make sure it is connected properly. Will the pump run when someone turns the key on? Pump runs, check fuel manifold for pressure. No pressure, check the fuel filter for blockage, or replace it. Fuel pump doesn't run, new replacement pump is defective. There is usually some type of control module for the fuel pump on fuel injected vehicles. Good Luck, RAC

Probably, also, if it's an electric, check to make sure the pump is actually getting power. The wires may have gone bad.
