Have you checked the oil level ? It does not need to be much below the Add Mark for it to not work.

Help? Suddenly my 1987 bronco II manual trans 4 wheel drive will not move in any gear.


First, did you check on the driveshaft? It's not dropped or has a broken U-joint and/or yoke? Will the truck move in 4WD? If so, the problem lies with the drivshaft and rear end. If not, then the problem lies in the transmission and transfer case. Can you shift gears while the engine is running without them grinding? If so then the clutch assembly is good, otherwise you need to look there.

1987 Bronco II. When four wheel drive is engaged. Front drivers side wheel makes a whining sound. Four wheel drive won't engage.


i would believe that u prob have a bad lock out, change it and u'll be good to go, take only couple minutes if you have the right allen wrench

could be a faulty switch or the lock out on the diff may be bad, In woudl start at the switch first and work my way down.

I replaced the fly wheel on my 87 bronco ll automatic 4x4 an now it wont move,what could make it not go


is the torque convetor all the way in the pump.when the tranny is bolted up to engine& convertor unbolted can you spin it if not its not all the way in pump .
