Question about 2005 Toyota Tacoma

1 Answer

I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma and the air occasionally works on all speeds. However, most of the time the air conditioning works only on high. Do you have any suggestions on what this may be?

It may be you need to refill the aircon unit with gas as it seems it needs more power to draw in the cooler air.
try taking it to a specialist to check it out.

My AC/Heater fan blower just works on high, but when I hit a bump big enough to cause a significant vibration, I can use the other speeds (low, medium etc...). If I hit the bump again it'll just work on...

wiggle the wires behind the control unit to see if maybe there's a loose wire. If that does not work, then try tapping the climate control switch, if it works then you know it's your switch that needs to be replaced. If you want to fix it yourself, just take it out and dissasemble it and clean the unit with alcohol or nail polish remover and try it again on the part (knob) that makes contact with the board. a new unit is very expensive.

Air blower will only work on the high side. All

I believe there are TWO fuses for the blower. One for lower speeds and one for high speed only. Check your owners manual for the location of BOTH of these fuses. Check and replace if blown. Does anything else not work (i.e. interior lights, cigarette lighter...?) they could be on the same circuit.

Air conditioner only blows air on high doesnt blow on other setti

It is NOT the blower.
The problem is in the dashboard A/C blower switch. The switch is connected to a tri-resistor (3 resistor coils) which will vary the motor speed. Cost is about $10.
If you want to repair it yourself, you should purchase a repair book for your car at any ayto supply store ($30) or go to the reference department in your local Library (you have a card, right?)
You cannot check out a reference book, but you can photocopy the necessary pages (10 cents, maybe a quarter).
The repair procedure is not too difficult.
Total cost: $12.60 (including copies) or $45.

Don't be talked into replacing the fan motor.

Hope this helps!

2005 toyota tacoma air conditioning cold on left, warm on right

I would not suggest repairing yourself. Sounds like a blend door actuator. Not to sure on a toyota because i know more about domestic but i believe that the dash needs to be taken apart to replace this part or to atleast examine your duct work behind the dash. Hope this helps! ~Derek~
