Stuck rear door

From the inside but you will need to remove the front and rear seat to do it

check the opposite side door to see if you can take off the inside door panel with the door closed. If you can, remove the door panel and find the cable/mechanism to the latch, move it to open the door and fix/replace.

THE BAR THAT PULLS THE LATCH OPEN HAS PROBABLY CAME OFF INSIDE THE DOOR. HAVE TO REMOVE PANEL FROM DOOR AND REPAIR ROD

The fuses for the seat are shared with other features on the car such as power antenna. Has any other power feature gone off as well?
Check the runners the seat slides in. There might be something trapped in there blocking the running action.
There are two fuse boxes. One under the hood in the rear drivers side corner, under a black plastic cover. The other is inside the car, inside the end panel of the dash. (With the door open).
Check fuses 1 and 18 as they cover the power seat functions.

My back hatch would not open but it appears the lock was sticking and the return spring to the handle is broken. We used the key to unlock the back door and then door opened. Then husband sprayed WD 40 in all the lock holes. Now once we open the door we have to push the handle back down as return spring is still missing but the door opens :) . My van is a 2002 Ford Windstar.

Once you have the seat back out, you will see the metal rod the seat bottom is on. Unbolt the rod from the floor ( where the seat belts are at ) and the seat brackets, and the bottom will come out as 1 piece ( careful, it will pull apart where the 40-60 split is at ).

You may have to pull the latch, the latches inside the tailgate got loose or the tailgate is bent inward take a sluge hammer and hit it on the oppisite side to make flush!

The rear window has to be completely down in order to move the tailgate! You should be happy that your window is stuck up, unlike mine which is stuck all the way down! I have to completly take apart my tailgate!! If you want to try a trick to get the rear window down, my bronco has a rear window switch right next to the headlight knob, take the 2 purple wires on that window switch, and cross them, if your motor still works and if the wires are good, that should make the window go down!!! good luck, hope that helps!

only way to repair is to replace the handles. this is a common problem they use a toothed circle to work the lever and it wears and jumps a tooth basically and it will pop the tooth off if you push it back.so replacement is only fix

Open the right/rear door. Gently pull the on-body weatherstrip slightly away from the body at the rear side of the door opening. Fold and lock the right/rear seat back down into the locked position. Carefully pull the trim panel that houses the seat belt height adjuster and anchor pivot off of the body. Now carefully pull the lower trim panel from the inside outward far enough to expose the VSM (Vehicle Security Module). This module has three electrical connectors plugged into it, coloured green, grey and blue. On the module is a label bearing a number similar to 3L2T-15K602-EA. On the same label will be FIVE large numbers. Those five numbers are your five digit keyless entry keypad code. Hope this helps.
