Question about 2003 Chevrolet Malibu
The last 3 oil changes, my car has required heavier and heavier oil to keep the oil light from coming on... we have tried additives ect, and it was suggested that the sending unit or the oil pump could be defective. Today the took the sending unit off and tested the oil pressure...
At an idle it sits at 7 psi ... @3500 rpm it the pressure is 32psi. I am told this is really low.
What recommendations do you have?
That is low, i recommend you pull the oil pan and check the pump pickup tube screen, it may be the oil pump but i doubt it, my guess is internal engine wear
