Question about 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT
I am considering buying a Mitsubishi GTO having wanted one for years. I am however slightly put off because I've been told they are extremely unreliable & expensive to fix. Apparently they have major transmission issues as well as ECU problems. I am looking at all models between 91-99 but have been told to avoid the VR4 because the torque is supposed to be too powerful for the 4WD shafts. How true is all this & what should I watch for?
The general rule is don't buy a toy if you cannot afford to repair it, a buddy of mine really wanted a lexus, he has to deal with $100.00 oil changes and his front brakes cost him $1500.00 , best thing is the car is going to last him 20 yrs or more, it is now 10 yrs old, still looks like new and runs like new, its paid for and now its only maintenance, so its your call
