If it is of higher amperage it would be ok. For instance if your battery was a 525 amp and you put in a 675 amp you would be fine. If you put in a smaller amp battery it might not last or start the car in colder weather

Beginning to think escape's are garbage please help

That sounds more like your transmission is giving you the problems. A battery wouldn't cause a problem like you described. You should take it to a shop you trust and have them look at your vehicle.

Got 2002 ford explorer and the 6 cds will not come

OK I am no expert but I have has this exact same problem......TWICE. I just addressed it again this afternoon by disconnecting the battery. Once reconnected the radio "initialized" and I was able to eject all cd's and use the player again. I can only speculate as to the cause but it could be because at least 3 of the cd's contained MP3's burned from my ITunes library. I will stick to audio cd's and see if it happens again!

Check Engine Light on Yr2001 Ford Escape V-6 2wd. Code says: Misfire on cylinder #5. Dealer said compression is low in cylinder #5. This Escape needs to pass smog. What can we do?

If the engine has a P0305 DTC (Data Trouble Code) for a "cylinder 5 mis-fire detected", then the first thing to do is to do a compression test to determine if the mis-fire is actually being caused by a mechanical problem, or an electronic problem.

If the engine really does have low compression on the #5 cylinder then that is caused by a mechanical mis-fire and nothing electronic will repair it, and the most common causes for a mechanical mis-fire would be a burnt or bent intake or exhaust valve, a warped cylinder head or damaged head gasket, or a damaged piston. You can call around and find a repair shop that will do a "compression leak down test" if you want to know exactly what is causing the compression leak without any dis-assembly to the engine.

I am having the same problem, this has been going on for a while and now I get 5 short beeps from my computer not my radio, I am hoping that it is from my radio, I had to replace the battery and when they put the new one in the radio started clicking but nothing comes out it tells me slots are full which I know there is only 3 in it

Emission systems light on, losing power or misses

You may want to check your oxygen sensor and vacuum hoses. An OBD can help you identify the exact cause. Most auto store and garage should have one.

No start

I'll give you a list of a few things that could be causing your problem. However, I think it's most likely a bad ignition module. I looked this up on the web and I see a lot of ignition module problems for the 2002 Escape. I checked the Ford recall list but there was no recall issued for what looks to be a very common problem with the ignition module.

Here are some other things that could be causing your problem.
1. Bad ignition coil
2. Clogged fuel filter
3. Clogged air filter
4. Clogged fuel injectors
5. Bad spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and /or rotor.
