How do you disconnect the clutch master cylinder from the clutch pedal

IF you look at at the clutch peddle, there is a rod coming from the clutch cylinder, that is attached to the clutch peddle arm by a pin , remove the pin, remove the line from the master cylinder, remove the bolts holding the cylinder to the fire wall, and the cylinder will be free to remove.

I'm having trouble pressing my clutch all the way in to start the vehicle, how do I tightened the clutch cable?

The clutch probably has a slave cylinder that does the work. It might be dry or seized. check that first.

I hardly have any clutch pedal and have to press it all the way to the floor to engage. Time for a new clutch?

Before condemning the clutch, check the clutch hydraulics. If the hydraulics are failing, the clutch it self could be fine. In your engine compartment, there should be two aluminum cylinders coming out of the fire wall. One will be attached to the brake booster and the other directy to the fire wall. Check the fluid level in the one at the fire wall. Top it off with Dot 3 brake fluid. CAUTION! Brakefluid will damage the paint on your car, so if you spill any on it or touch the surface with a fluid saturated rag, rinse it off with water!
If the fluid level is low, top it off and then pump the pedal rapidl rapiidly. It should come up to a normal height for a short period of time at which point you should be able to drive the car and see if the clutch it self feels normal, No slippage and no grinding of gears. The fluid loss is usually from the master cylinder. From inside the car, with a small light, follow the clutch pedal up to where the rod the pedal pushes can be seen entering the fire wall. Look for traces of fluid leaking out of the back of the cylinder. If the clutch master cylinder has failed, I usually recommend replacing the slave cylinder at the same time.

I went to start my car today and pushed the clutch in and it went straight to the floor on my 06 chevy cobalt ls. Can you help?

Check the fluid for the clutch. It has a small master cylinder next to the brake master cylinder. It should use brake fluid. If it is low, top it off. If it goes low again, you'll need to investigate where it's leaking from. You could have a leaking master or slave cylinder.

Clutch looses fluid

The clutch master cylinder and or the slave cylinder are probably leaking. The slave cylinder is on the bell housing of the engine. Check there for an oil leak. The master cylinder is usually under the dash where the clutch mechanism passes through the fire wall.

Will not go into gear(manual)

Pretty good chance it's the clutch but check the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder for leaks (also line between). A drastic change often is caused by failure of either component...generally if clutch fails, it is a gradual process (similar to how a brake pad wears)
