P0303 - Missfire Cyl. 3 .----------- Try reducing the gap a bit on the spark plug #3 and see if it helps. If it does, then you probably have an ignition problem (plug, wire, coil, wiring, etc...).If you have replaced plug wires and coils then check compression on that cylinder? If it's low then that indicates a mechanical problem (rings, valves, etc...). How about the fuel injectors? You might try swapping #3 with a different cylinder and see if the problem follows the injector. You should also closely examine the wires going into the coil plug. The stock wiring harness pulls these wires too tight, and can cause them to fail.Check the coil-pack plug /connector. If all checked ok then it is faulty fuel injectors and needs to be replaced. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

2003 ford focus codes p0316,p0300,p0302,p0303

I had a similar problem with my '02 Focus. I found the actual wires leading to the harness had broken. From the codes I would say you have lost a good connection with cylinders 2 and 3. My Focus started to hesitate and jump until normal temps were reached. Then it jumped and hesitated all the time. I went to the junk yard and got a replacement wire set for $3. I cut the current ones out and used heat shrink and electrical tape to reconnect the new. Worked like magic.

Here is an excerpt from the code problem below. Good luck

- Ignition coils harness is open or shorted
- Ignition coils circuit poor electrical connection

Ford mustang - year 2000 - 3.8 liter. The coil pack is out?

I replaced the coil pack to no avail. I also purchase a code reader while at the auto parts store. This device told me cylinder 3 was misfiring (P0303). I found that the spark plug wire had shorted out on the manifold sensor tubes. Replaced that wire and done.

I highly recommend keeping a code reader in your car tool kit. very useful.

2000 ford focus code p0303 help me

The coil pack harness is the largest suspect here. i had the same cylinder and lousy running with it. I fixed mine myself but it wasn't pretty as I had to take the connector apart to do it. I believe ford has a replacement pigtail for the coil pack so if one of the smaller wires is kinked or busted off (like mine was) I'd purchase the new pigtail from them it will be easier than taking it apart yourself as I did. Regardless, my fix has held. __________________

Crankcase capacity for 2003 ford focus 2.0 liter split port engine

Hi,

To my knowledge, a 2003 Ford Focus 2.0 SPi engine would need 4 quarts of engine oil (roughly 3.78 liters). Incidentally, the Ford/Cosworth Zeta/Zetec engine would be needing 4.25 quarts (~4 liters).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
