that is your traction control. Either you pressed the traction control button it say ASR OR ESP on your console in the center next to the hazard switch.

The Jetta came with DTC (digital traction control) which you control with the DTC button. Generally one click disables the Automatic Braking System while holding it down disables the traction control. One more click should reset everything and turn the icon off. If it will not go off by using the DTC button then the computer is sensing a problem in either your traction or braking system and your best bet is to stop by your local auto parts store for a free code reading to tell you exactly what the problem is. It may be as simple as a sensor, but to be safe have it checked out if the DTC button control doesn't turn the light off for you.
