2006 Vue front passenger seat removal

How do I remove the passenger front seat. I need to do repairs on it and it looks like it would be easier to do if the whole seat assemby was removed from the vehicle.

SOURCE: passenger seat 2006 vw jetta

I don't remember which knob adjusts that area for the seat but if it's like the one I used to own, much older model, it had a turn knob on the side of the back rest that you had to actually turn to get it to do that recline position. Look at your seat and see if it has a large knob on the side of the back rest and if it does, turn it until the seat reclines. I think it does. but not sure. if it doesn't then look on the side of the seat by the door for a lever there to see if that is the lever to make the seat recline. Vw has more than one knob most of the time. you can also check your owner's manual for seat adjusting and it should tell you something.

The seats are bolted down 2 in the front and 2 in the back, you may also have to disconnect a wiring harness if you have power seats, removal shouldn't take more than 20 min for both seats.

Look at the latch on the end of the door and make sure that the latch is open. You will want to spray the latch with some lube.If it is not open you can flip it with your finger or a screwdriver while holding the door handle like you are opening the door. You can look at the latch on the other door to see what it looks like open.Well hope this helps.

Take it to a body shop and have them to open it.
without special tools and skills you'll have to remove the door panel to fix it. however removing the door panel requires that you open the door. a shop can likely do this without damaging the door panel. Once the door is opened, then you can remove the panel and repair the problem. likely a broken or disconnect acutator level for the door handles.

Not an easy fix.first start by removing trim panels at passenger side, its easier if you remove the seat, could be the drainage hose in fire wall at heater box that is clogged, pour water into vent opening at bottom of windshield and see if water is leaking at firewall at glovebox.if not then the side panels need to be removed and possably a body grommet or a body weld might be the will be able to use a water hose to find the leak.allso check the door and window weatherstripping.

Passanger Side air bag sensor

I had a simular problem with my Vue. Found the sensor in the seat for the airbag was faulty. This sensor is also part of the seat heater. Replaced the part and found that when this part is replaced, an adaptor is needed in addition to the sensor/heater. The cost of this repair was around $1500. After all was replaced, we reset all the codes and all was well. Hope this helps.
