Question about Chevrolet K3500
I think that if it's a torque converter problem, usually they leak or don't lock up at highway speeds.
Your transmission is behaving badly, and I think it needs to be rebuilt, where they will change all of the solenoids inside as well as the clutches, and so on and so forth. All wearable parts will be replaced if you go for the rebuild option.
The first thing I would check is the transmission fluid level and to see if it is the right type.
How may miles do you have on it?
