Sputtering and stalling

Have the fuel pressure tested, running out of gas will destroy the fuel tank moumted fuel pump or cause it to run slow with the resulting loss of power.

95 chevy g20 van started to lose power while driving and began to spit and sputter

Ck your alternator output, should be between 13.8 and 14.2 volts, A bad alt will cause the battery to discharge when driving, Once voltage drops to a certain level (9.8 I think ) the ecm starts to shut down causing all kinds of strange problems, like running bad ,trans not shifting right, even the radio ! It happened to me in my 95 chev p/u

Would a defective Glow Plug Controller cause injector control circuit problems amd lose of power?

Circuit problems no loss of power yes but only untill it runs for awhile ( look for fuel filter bowl problems ) Wrong filter as alot of wrong filters are out there.

This could be any number of things, check all of your belts and make sure they are there. Do a visual inspection of the wires under the hood and make sure none look burned. The last thing to check would be the timing belt on the car under the cover behind the rest of the belts. If this has stripped the car could have jumped time and will not let the car run and could cause more damage the more you try to run it.
