Hello there is a problem with your crankshaft or camshaft posistion sensor. there is a technical service bulletin out from subaru on the sensors. Just gothe to the subaru dealer and get the new sensors and replace them. You car will work fine after that. Takes maybe five minutes to replace both sensors one is one the left side of the engine by the battery near the black timing belt case the other is in the center of the timing cover right above the crankshaft pulley

Why does my 98 subaru legacy sputter and die?

Clean your MAF sensor and throttle body. If it's dirty it will send wrong voltage to ECU, running either too lean or too rich, most likely too rich and flooded the fuel injectors.

Load roaring sound 1995 subaru sound coming from back

Roaring noise from rear is a classic symptom of a rear wheel bearing beginning to fail. The noise is amplified thru the body and make an awful racket. The trick is figuring out which one is failing. Your mechanic may recommend replacing both sides if the vehicles mileage warrants it.

I have a 1996 subaru legacy wagon, and almost every time i go for a short trip to the store or something it wont start after i have shut it off. It will usally start again after about 25 minutes and it...

the one at the side of the throttle body pertains to the electronic choke that works when your engine is cold. it ups the idle so your engine can go to the normal operating temp faster.

your hard starting problem is caused by ignition timing. putting too much advance on your ignition will cause this issue. have some experienced mechanic check your timing. he should look at the distributor timing, camshaft timing, and crankshaft timing.

1995 subaru legacy at 1 on the rpm gauge moving or in park it wants to stall out after it go pasts 1 it will drive okay.. but before it will wanna kept cutting out

it might be a bad TPS (throttle position sensor). it operates similarly to a volume control knob on a radio. as you accelerate the butterfly on the throttle body opens to allow more air into the engine, as you would turn up the volume on the radio. there could be "flat spot" on the sensor. they can be checked with a scan tool with real time display. if the sensor is bad it needs to be replaced.

Alarm sounds and car wont start on my 1995 subaru

First try to reset alarm by inserting key in drivers door lock and lock and unlock-if this does not work try tail lock as well.

1995 subaru wont start the starter and battery are brand new,

Iwould check where the grounds at the motor and body. Make sure there is no rust built up under them. Sometimes just loosening and retightening them is enough to make a good contact. Good luck and have a good day.
