SOURCE: black smoke on my nissan terrano when you put

black smoke usually indicates to much fuel being delivered. If this is the case you need to correct it soon or you will damage the catalytic convertor. What year is the vehicle and how many miles on it? Is there a check engine light on? this info would help

How to change fuel filter in diesel nissan patrol 1993

most diesel filters are a spin on on cartridge so all you need iks a filter strap to remove it. If you have something like a CAV filter housing there will be a centre bolt that connects the top to the bottom and the centre bit ( cartridge will be a throw away.
You will run into problems bleeding out the system so before you start get a workshop manual that tells you how to do this .

Nissan Terrano Diesel 55 plate engine management light comes on 10 mins after first journey and sounds like a diesel knock although does not seem to effect performance and there is no excessive smoke.

Probably you might face a problem on the injection pump with the Advance or retar positioning, and I believe that is controlled by the vehicle ECU. The Diesel Knocking you receive should be this fault.

Car wont start, like its getting no fuel. smoke coming from engine to the air intake filter

that might mean your head gasket is blew up and then you might have a problem with the fuel pump is broken that would be the two thing that come into my mind when i read that good luck and hope that the rigth thing i told you.

My Nissan terrano 1996 2.7 diesel engine would, every so often die on me and would take several turns before it would start again, I have replaced fuel filter + housing with brand new parts and that seemed...

I just had the computer on my Terrano rebooted, which seems to have solved the problem with it 'die'-ing and surging. One of the local Auto Electrical places sorted it.

My 1993 nissan terrano,4x4 turbo diesel, isnt bringing fuel up to the injectors after i replaced the diesel filter.does anybody have a solution for this please

Did you follow these procedures?

  1. Release the fuel pressure from the fuel line as follows:
    1. Remove the fuel pump fuse at the fuse box.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. After the engine stalls, crank the engine two or three times to make sure that the fuel pressure is released.
    4. Turn the ignition switch OFF and reinstall the fuel pump fuse.
  2. Loosen the hose clamps at the fuel inlet and outlet lines. Wrap a shop towel or absorbent rag around the filter, then slide each line off the filter nipples.
  3. Remove the fuel filter and old hose clamps.

To install:

  1. Place new hose clamps on the fuel inlet and outlet lines.
  2. Connect the fuel filter, being careful to observe the correct direction of flow, then tighten the hose clamps.
  3. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.

Always use a high pressure-type fuel filter assembly. Do not use a synthetic resinous fuel filter
