Question about 2008 Audi A6
I have a 2008 Audi A6 with 56K miles. Since day 1 there has been a problem with check engine light and a misfire code. After more than 20 trips to dealer to solve problem, they now tell me they are developing software to correct engine problem. They've tried all sorts of corrections, cleansers, etc. etc. Every few thousand miles, rough idle begins again and light comes on. I love my car, but this is very frustrating. Any suggestions? I've heard there are other Audi 2008 engines with this problem.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Audi A6 Misfires
You may have a coil pack going bad. They're on the front top of the engine - you'll see them if you follow the spark plug wires back. Do you have any codes from having the engine scanned? If you can get it scanned (AutoZone will do it free), post the codes up and we'll see which cylinder(s) are misfiring. From there, you can swap coilpacks around and see whether the misfires follow the packs or stay in the original cylinders. If they move, you have a bad coil pack or two. If they don't, since you've already changed plugs and wires, I'd see about having the injectors diagnosed to see if any of them are failing.

We had to remove the glove box first then on the centre consol there is a small removal plate, remove this and locate the filters. There are two .
