Hi there,

The starter disable for most models interrupts the power to the solenoid by means of a relay. When you turn the key, the power never gets there.

This relay needs to be taken out of the equation.

Step 1. Finding it.

The point of interrupt is usually drivers side, under the dash, where the wiring harness from the steering column emerges. The alarm is often zip tied to the column so it can detect vibrations easier.

One of the wires will have been been diverted to the alarm.

Jump this wire and the starter disable will be disabled. The rest of the alarm functions will remain unaffected.

Car wont start. set off alarm. I do not have the remote

Car may have a starter disabling security feature. Unfortunately if you don't have the remote you will need to get with the dealership if that is the case.

This all depends on if this is a factory installed alarm that came with the car from the dealer or if its after market, in both causes some wiring will be needed. she will need to locate the alarm module under the dash on the driverside and disable it by unplugging it, when this is done the alarm is now deatactivated and the car will not start, the next step is to remove the steerind column covers but first look at wiring coming from the column. this wiring will be for steering controls and ignition switch, she will need to locate the starter wire this wire will be cut in half and run into alarm system she will need to conect wire back and that will solve the problem

I lost the alarm remote for my 1996 camry I still have the key but I cannot disable the alarm?

If this alarm system makes it you engine won't start, it is a little more complicated but if all it does is make noise then open the door, open the hood, find the alarm horn (it will be the one making all the noise) and cut the wires. They can be easily spliced back together once you get a new remote.

I lost the remote to my 1996 Toyota Camry, which disables the alarm on the car. Is there away to manually disable the alarm so I can be able to start it without the alarm going off?

When you use the key to start the car the alarm will disarm. You can now purchase replacement key fob's from Autozone. They are easy to program and cheaper than the dealer. I would recommend checking ebay as well for a replacement fob.

1998 toyota Avalon, the car alarm is going off when opening the drivers door manually with the key (remote is broke) and then the car will not start.

Same here... I have a 1998 Toyota Avalon XL. My car battery died. Replaced my car battery, but found out that when you unplug and plug the car battery with this car it engages in security mode (I have factory car alarm). This disables the engine and wont let you turn the ignition aka start the car engine until the remote (keyless entry) "UNLOCK" is applied. My remote is also lost so I cannot disable the alarm.
The only thing I can think of to do is unplug the battery again to disable everything (car alarms are annoying...) and call the dealer to pick the car up and perform the diagnosis. Most likely they will offer you another keyless (ugh... expensive) and/or you could ask to disable the factory car alarm.
I know thats not much help but it seems to be the only option from what I researched currently....

Did the 96 toyota camry come with an alarm if so how do I disable

actually your car has to have keyless entry, it's part of the alarm system that is given you problems. I had a similar issue with my 87 camery, sounds like they still haven't fixed it in 96.. anyway the fix was for me to take the VIN number over to my local dealer dish out about 35 bucks and get the remote control unit for the alarm system. That also gives you keyless entry :).. So for 35 bucks it was well worth the investment.

In order to disable the alarm there should be a red or black button under the streering colum to left side. You must put the ignition in the run position, and then hold this button for thirty seconds it should disable the alrm until you repeat that procedure.
