Your evaporator drain tube may be stopped up. If you can find where it comes out under the car near the fire wall you can use air pressure to blow through it to unstop it. If you can't find it you have to go under the dash to take the housing off the evaporator to get to it which is not an easy job.

It is doubtful that the Air Conditioning is making your drivers side from getting wet. Likely culprits are a cracked radiator core, leaking hoses or joints, holes in the windshield seals, missing or cracked grommets through the bulkhead, or holes in the floor pan, especially by the wheel arch.

It could still be a leaking windshield and running under the carpet.
