Question about Toyota Corolla

1 Answer

The combination switch (turn signals, head lights, high beams) on my 1999 Toyota Corolla need to be replace. The dealer wants about $500 to do the job. I can purchase the replacement switch for around $120. Is replacing the switch straight forward or is it something the I should let the dealer do? Where can I find instructions to replace the switch?

Air Bag on steering wheel? disconnect battery for 5 min
then remove carefully...torx screws in back side of wheel?!
Remove wiring loosen nut but do not remove push seat back grasp firmly and tug while rocking wheel not turning.
Remove shaft covers should be in your face then.
Some places sell complete "combo switch" others only light switch be sure of what you are paying for.

when you switch your signal arm push forward for hi beam pull back low beam if you have regular beam and both beams are present then most likely it is your head light hand switch!! if fuse was blown you would have no head lights at all,so i would start with the swich good place to begin!
