Question about Jeep Cherokee
Thats a problem with the shifter for the 4wd unit or the transfer case itself you have get under the car and see if the linkage is popped off or bent you could remove the linkage manually shift it by hand see if its grabbing inside if it feels loose something inside case is bad . hope this helps . please dont forget to rate my answer thanks
