hey had the same issue i replaced my blow motor and then my compressor and still the same just as a warning cause i paid the price the 525i has a very delicate ac resistor that if is showing signs of problems could cause you way more later i did not notice a problem till the resistor started to malfunction and began draining batteries and cutting power to the car so get that checked out the parts only about $30 but can be a royal pain in the ****.

1990 BMW 525i 2.5L engine overheats after rplaceing water pump, stermostat,fan clucth,radiator

There's trapped air in the cooling system.
  • You need to remove the bleeder screw on top of the radiator when adding water to the expansion tank.
  • With the engine running, pour water into the expansion tank till you see air go out through the bleeder screw's hole.
  • Just keep adding water until no more air bubbles come out then just put the screw back in place.
  • Then fill the expansion tank to it's normal level/line.

The radiator fan on my 2007 bmw 525i works fine while car is driving. Once i stop at a red light or in traffic the the fan stops working, ac blows hot air and mins later the car overheats. The car has a...

My guess is that your electric fan is NOT operating at all. Under normal conditions, just going down the highway, your cooling system will function just fine without a fan running. The air flow through the radiator is adequate to keep things cool. However, when you stop, you quickly get into an "overheat" situation. Actually, you should be able to hear your fan begin operating when your engine temperature starts climbing or your air conditioner requires the fan to do its thing. Note: If you've ever severely overheated your engine, your problems may be worse than just a fan not running, but you really do need to confirm whether your fan is operating correctly, or not. Another note: I had a vehicle with a tendency to overheat when stopped. It turned out to be a faulty (leaking) pressure cap on the cooling system.

Low fluid will not cause it to do that, If it pops out of gear you got a (Serios) Problem i hate to tell you, End on a (BMW) count on paying $2500 end up to have it (Rebuilt) Thats what you get for buying a (Over) price toy.

Air conditioner works sometimes and not ...in a 1992 bmw 318is... i mean as long as the fan blows it works ... fan in vehicle will not come on

I think what you are telling me is that the fan will only sometimes work. This is an indication of a fan motor failing and should be replaced. Let me know if you need a shop manual for these cars. Actuall BMW, not aftermarket!

Adding transmission fluid to 1992 BMW 525i.

On the driver side of the transmission pan there is a fill plug. The car must be in the air and level. With the car running fluid will run out of the plug hole when it is full. This is no fun without a lift.
