There may be a seal available for this compressor, but, what you will be gambling on,is if the axle shaft is worn too bad for the new seal to seal off.If it is leaking from around the clutch on the compressor, then this is most likely where it is leaking from. Now,replacing the ac compressor, orifice tube, and accumilator/dryer,would be the way to go to repair the ac system if the seal can not be sealed off.The seal is about 30 dollars, and the labor will be around 100 dollars plus chemicals.NAPA auto parts now offers a complete ac kit that includes everything you need except labor, and freon.Check into this, they offer it in a remanufactured kit,or new, either will be fine, but to replace the ac compressor, you will need to replace dryer and orifice tube for the store to warrantee the parts, this way,the store has no problem, defecting the parts out for you, this is the reason for the kit program they have,it includes all these parts and the oil for that vehicle, and the flush,to flush the system out.If this was helpful, please rate, and I would hope you go with the ac replacement, cause the gamble really is not worth it,thank you.

Can i disengage the ac compressor on my pontiac monatna

you can disengage it by not turning the AC on in the vehicle. the AC is engage by the clutch once you turn the AC on in the vehicle. as far as removing the belt from the AC, you can only do that if there is only one belt going to the AC. If you have 1 continous serpentine belt, then no. unless you go to an auto parts store and get a new serpentine belt, but tell them there is no AC on the vehicle.

The ac suddenly stopped working. how much would this cost to fix approx.?

depends whats wrong with it ,compressor ?? expensive but it could be just a wire loose that makes the compressor clutch work .or even a fuse

Ac compressor will not engage

You will need to take it to a shop and have the refigerent pressure checked if some as leaked out which they all do over time, the leak will need to be located and the system recharged.

The ac clutch will not ingage the two wires that go to ac clutch never have 12 volts on eather one

You need to have it leak tested and recharged. There's a low pressure switch that won't alow the compressor clutch to engage when there's a leak. If the compressor clutch was engaged without refrigerant and oil circulating it would seize. Don't be surprised if you need a new condenser. Don't use those leak sealer recharge kits as they can do more harm than good, and some AC shops won't touch a car after someone uses leak sealer. They claim there's a different mix of gases in the refrigerant (usually propane) and they can't recycle it, and they don't like customers complaining when the AC doesn't work when it was the leak sealer clogging things up.

A lot of oil leaking

You must be looking at a different sensor as the oxygen sensor is mounted in the exhaust system and wouldn't be exposed to the oil in the engine. The oil pressure sensor is likely what you see, it is not uncommon at all for these to fail internally and leak oil to the outside of the engine. Sometimes you need a special socket to change them. Both the sensor and the socket should be available at any auto parts store.
