There is no simple way.. I have done it with the motor in and out.. It took less time to pull the motor and change the pan than it did to drop the cross member , undo the engine and trans mounts. I don't recommend doing it with the motor in.

Changing a oil pan for a 95 grand marquis


Just loosen oil plug and drain...take out pan bolts... drop down...make sure alt gasket material is off of both pan and bottom of motor. Lay new gasket on oil pan...possibly use gasket sealer to keep gasket in place...a very thin layer on oil pan then put gasket on. Let dry for a bit then bolt back up...make sure oil plug is back in then refill....cheers!

Huge oil leak on driver side of my 2000 mustang gt


as removing the head this would give you better view of the engine so you may be able to see the oil filter part .Just a thought not leaking from head gasket ,you'll find out when removing head i guess

i may say it came from loose oil drain plug or the oil filter(if it's change). and maybe the technician forgot to torque or put gasket on the plug and tighten the filter.

How do i remove the oil pan


REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - Oil Pan

CAUTION The EPA warns that prolonged contact with used engine oil may cause a number of skin disorders, including cancer! You should make every effort to minimize your exposure to used engine oil. Protective gloves should be worn when changing the oil. Wash your hands and any other exposed skin areas as soon as possible after exposure to used engine oil. Soap and water, or waterless hand cleaner should be used. (except 2.5 Premier engine)

  1. Apply the parking brake, block the rear wheels, then raise and safely support the front of the vehicle on jackstands.
  2. Drain the engine oil. This would also be a good time to change the oil filter.
  3. Remove the engine-to-transaxle struts, if so equipped. These struts prohibit access to the oil pan mounting bolts.
  4. Remove the torque converter or clutch inspection cover.
  5. Support the oil pan and remove the mounting bolts.
  6. Lower the pan and remove the old gasket, if so equipped.
To install:
  1. Clean all gasket surfaces thoroughly.
  2. For 2.6L engines, position a new gasket on the oil pan using a sealer to hold it in place.
1981-87 2.2 and 2.5 Liter engine uses a liquid form-in-place type gasket. Chrysler Part Number 4205918, or equivalent RTV gasket material must be used.
  1. For 1981-87 2.2 and 2.5L engines, install new end seals and apply the form-in-place gasket sealant. The RTV gasket material should be applied in a continuous bead approximately 1 / 8 in. (3mm) in diameter. All mounting holes must be circled. Uncured RTV may be removed with a rag. The oil pan should be tightened in place while the RTV is still wet to the touch (within 10 minutes). The usage of a locating dowel is recommended during assembly to prevent smearing of the material off location. Make sure to apply sealer where the end seals meet the block.
1988-95 2.2L and 2.5L engines utilize end seals and side gaskets, not liquid gasket as with 1981-87 models.
  1. On 1988-95 2.2L and 2.5L engines, install new end seals and side gaskets. Apply RTV sealant to the parting lines between the end and side seals on these engines. If necessary, use a little grease or RTV sealant to hold the side seals in place.
  2. Tighten the pan bolts in a crisscross fashion, starting from the center of the oil pan and working toward the ends, to the following torque values:
    2.6L engine-53-61 inch lbs. (5.9-6.8 Nm) 1981-87 2.2L and 2.5L engines-16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm) 1988-95 2.2L and 2.5L engines-M8 bolts, 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm); M6 bolt, 105 inch lbs. (12 Nm)
  3. Allow the oil pan to sit for 15 minutes to ensure that the RTV sealant has completely set.
  4. Install the oil drain plug and a new oil filter, if equipped, then lower the vehicle.
  5. Refill the engine with oil
  6. Start the engine and check for oil leaks.

How many quarts of oil in 5.0 mustang gt


The 5.0L engine comes with a 5 quart oil pan. I have a 95 mustang and I have a 7 quart oil pan installed on it. If there was a previous owner that has done any work to your car be aware of that. It wasn't until 96 that mustangs came stock with a 6 quart oil pan on the 4.6L engine. I would put 5 quarts in with out worry. start the engine for a bit, shut it back off and check the oil again before taking it out on the road. Do not only put 3 quarts in it and feel safe with it.

Do i need to drop the oil pan to ghange the timing cover gasket on a 95 ford mustang v6?


You can pull the motor mounts bolts and jack the motor up alittle, that will give you enough clearance to drop your oil pan. If you try and replace the timing chain cover without dropping the oil pan, you will more than likely wind up with an oil leak.

You should be able to replace the timing cover without removing the oil pan. The gasket set should contain gaskets allowing you to cut the oil pan gasket and put in a new partial gasket in this area. In the corners make sure you use some RTV sealant. If you are careful, it can be done. Like Bob A says you can end up with a oil leak without dropping the pan (unless you clean up the area and properly apply the RTV and gasket). If you have time to drop the oil pan, then I would do that.

Need to replace the oil pump on a 95 park avenue


You shouldn't have to for head gaskets, makes it easier but not necessary.
For oil pan, you may have too. Depending on how much room there is between pan and crossmember and if pan is in tranny. Some cars the oil pan is 1/4" behind tranny but don't think that is the deal on your car.

95 Mustang Transmission Oil


I will assume this is an automatic, if not an automatic you never change the lubricant in a manual unless it has a tear-down for repair. Lets move on, you will need to pull the trans pan off (get the car as high in the air as possible, use jack stands always, be safe not sorry), use and old plastic garbage can lid with holes drilled in it to catch the fluid, put the lid on top of a large drain pan, slowly loosen the trans bolts, fluid will start leaking very soon after they are loose, leave a few in the front just in by a few threads, remove the back bolts and let pan drop down, this will get the most fluid out, then remove pan, clean the pan and the gasket surfaces, reinstall the pan, do not over-tighten the bolts!! it will squeeze out or damage the gasket, we don't want any leaks after all this work. When it is all buttoned up add half the recommended fluid, get trans hot by running engine for 30 minutes or so, then add more fluid, leave it a little low, a 1/2 pint or so, recheck in a few days after driving while engine and trans are still hot, then top off.
