Chilton manuals are cheap and cover pretty much everything you would need to know.. They can be had through any parts store.

How to change crankshaft sensor on a 2001 cad catiera

Its on the side of the block firewall side ... REMOVAL Numbers in text in parenthesis correspond to numbered components in image. Disconnect the wiring harness (1) from the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor pigtail. Securely attach a scrap piece of wire about 36 inches long to the CKP sensor pigtail. Later, this piece will be used as a pull wire to guide the new sensor pigtail back through the same routing. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the oil filter and capture any lost engine oil in a container. Loosen the oil cooler lines at the engine block. Back out the fittings far enough in order to gain sufficient clearance for the sensor pigtail connector to pass between the oil cooler lines and the side of the engine block. Remove the fastening bolt for the CKP sensor (1). Remove the CKP sensor and the O-ring seal from the engine block. Remove the CKP sensor pigtail. Observe the routing of the pigtail. Gently pull the CKP sensor pigtail down through the routing path and out. Guide the pigtail connector along the top of the oil cooler lines around to the side of the engine block. Pass the connector between the lines and the block at the point of the widest gap. Stop when the pull wire is exposed at both ends of the routing path. Disconnect the sensor from the pull wire. INSTALLATION Securely attach the CKP sensor pigtail to the lower end of the pull wire. Pass the pigtail connector between the oil cooler lines and the engine block. Using the pull wire as a guide, pull the sensor pigtail along the top of the oil cooler lines and around to the rear of the engine. Use the pull wire to pull the pigtail into position. Disconnect the pull wire from the sensor pigtail. Connect the sensor pigtail to the harness connector. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the CKP sensor and the engine block. Install the CKP sensor with a new O-ring seal into the engine block. Install the fastening bolt (1) for the CKP sensor. Check the harness for proper routing. Make sure that the wiring cannot come in contact with the exhaust manifold. Tighten the oil cooler lines at the engine block. Install the oil filter. Lower the vehicle. Recheck the engine oil level.

1979 ford 460 v8 engine on a ford one ton truck frame under a motor home. would not start. installed a rebuilt carburetor and a new fuel pump. got it to run, took it for a test run of 20 miles. at 10 miles...

Pull a couple of the sp. plugs out and see if there is fuel on them. If not pull the o2 sensor out of the exhaust and see if it starts. It will run rough but should start and run. If it does start you have a plugged catalytic converter or muffler and it is putting back pressure on the engine and not allowing the fuel into the cylinders.

How do I change the spark plug of the dodge magnum 2006

· Open the hood and remove the bolts that hold the engine cover in place, if your Dodge comes with an engine cover (depending on model and year). If so equipped, pull the cover off the engine.

· 2

Grab a spark plug wire by the base of the wire and pull the wire up and out of the engine. (You may need to wiggle it back and forth while pulling up on it to get it out of the engine.)

· 3

Trace the wire back to the power distributor and pull the spark plug wire off the distributor. Make a note of the plug orientation.

· 4

Install the new plug wire in the place of the removed one. Match the new wire with the old one to make sure they have the same size. Press the plug wire over the distributor electrode and onto the spark plug firmly, so that the ends are secure. Installation is the reverse of removal procedure.

· 5

Repeat the above procedure for all the other spark plug wires. It is best to change all the spark plug wires at the same time.

You need a special tool to install the bottom (aluminum) part aka syncronizer. You have to have the engine on top dead center and with the tool install the syncro assembly. The tool will come with instructions.

actually, the only way to fix this delicate piece of machinery is to replace the whole heater core unit. its the safe and best way. here are some step by step instructions on how to remove the old one. i also included instructions for installation of the new core as well. a fix ya rating would be most appreciated.

Remove the Old Core Step1 Drain the cars engine coolant from the water pump (remove the surge tank cap and drain bolt). Disconnect the heater outlet and inlet hoses by removing the clamps. Step2 Disconnect the Body Control Module. With the battery disconnected, parking brake on and transmission in Neutral, detach the entire front console, pull back the carpet to the right of the left dashboard support bracket and remove all the BCM's connectors and retainers. Step3 Pull back the carpet below the left dashboard support bracket. Remove the gas pedal from the front of the dash, then remove the center floor outlet ducts.
