Question about 1994 GMC Sierra

1 Answer

My 1994 GMC Sierra 1/2 ton 4x4 pickup wont start. There is a clicking noise as if the battery is dead when you try to start it and the engine will try to turn but it turns extremely slow as if its not getting enough juice. The battery is good, the starter and cylinoid is good, fuses are good, and the clutch is engaging. Any idea what my problem could be?

ECM I fuse keeps blowing in my 1996 1 ton gmc sierra 4x4 with a 454 v8 engine whats causing it

For the ECM 1 fuse to open you obviously have a short to ground , start with the injector disconnected and see if ECM 1 fuse still blows. If it does disconnect crank sensor, also inspect wires for the injectors or any rub through wires here is a diagram cansmo_178.gif

1996 gmc k1500 4x4 5.7 vortec motor no start keep

Replace the coolant sensor on the front of the intake manifold. The coolant sensors on this engine does go bad and wont set a check engine light. The sensor will read about -32 to 0 degrees when they do go bad. The computer thinks it is that cold and sends tons of fuel to the engine. If you try to start the engine with the throttle depressed to the floor it puts the fuel system in clear flood mode and wont fire the injectors. Engine will start then and run very rich. The coolant sensor has two wires on it and sometimes you need to replace the wiring pigtail going to it as the sensor can seep coolant into the connector and corrode the terminals. All the parts are available at pepboys and autozone or napa. Good luck

does the starter make a "clicking noise" when it wont turn over? check your battery cables at the battery and at the starter solenoid....if it not a connection , then it sounds like a bad starter relay/solenoid
