If both the ESP [Electronic Power Steering] and Airbag lamp are on then first I would check to see if something such as an electrical connector may have gotten unhooked down by the tie rod ends. The system isn't seeing the data it should, or is seeing some data it doesn't like, and has turned on both of these warning lamps as a result. I have seen similar problems occur if the steering shaft was disconnected from the steering gear and inadvertently turned a revolution or two before being reconnected. If no wiring problems are found then the system will need to be checked/tested using a scan tool to narrow down what has happened. Hope this helps and good luck!

How many lubrication fittings are there on a 1999 Buick LaSabre?

if this has a conventional front end(not front wheel drive) then there will be one on each outer tie rod end one on each inner tie rod end, both upper and lower ball joints on each side, idler arm and pitman arm. if its front wheel drive it will have a rack and pinion steering. there for there will be one on each outer tie rod end and one on each lower ball joint, if they have grease fittings. so conventional steering has 10 fittings total and rack and pinion has 4 total.

Check for bad wheel balance, struts, lower ball joints ( no upper joints) , outer tie rod ends, inner tie rod ends, stabilizer bar bushings, lower control arm bushings , and finally a wheel alignment ,you have some bad looseness in one or more of these front end parts. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

It may be stuck on defrost cycle due to a bad timer... is there an adjustable switch that you could adjust it should start up... let me know......

How to change a tie rod what.tools should be used

  1. Most tie rods consists of a Ball-Joint assembly. After removing the tire, you will need to pull the Tie-Rod Nut Retaining Pin before trying to take off the Tie-Rod Ball Joint Nut.
  2. After the Nut is removed, you can use a ball-joint separator to separate the ball-joint from the Hub assembly.
  3. After the Ball-joint is separated, mark the position of the old Tie-Rod where it connects to the Rack and Pinion assembly, and then remove the tie rod using a wrench.
  4. Installation is the reverse of disassembly.
  5. Once it is back together, you will need to get your vehicle aligned.

Was told that I would need to have the front cambers repaired before I could get a front end alignment.

Camber is an alignment term and is a measurement of how far the top of the wheel is in or out from the vehicle.

Things like lower control arms, lower ball joints, outer tie rod ends, struts or inner tie rod ends would be parts that would need to be repaired if they are bad before an alignment could be done.

My tires are wearing on the inside like my last car i replaced the outer tie rod ends and ball joints. But on my chrysler 300 2002 model ther looks to be more parts that look like ball joints than just one...

Your toe-in is off. Maybe tie rod ends or may just need alignment. If you take it for alignment, they will tell you if any joints are worn out.

How to take the outer tie rod off on a ford expedition

Best bet is to have an alignment shop do it since you will need special tools to seperate the ball joint. They may find the knuckle ball joints need replacement also. Since you will need an alignment anyways its best to have a pro do this. I have a 98 expedition with 100,000 plus miles and both the lower ball joints have been replaced recently.
