I have a 2004 Volkswagon Passat with the 1.8T engine. The air conditioner is not working. I have checked the line pressure(s) and have around 75 psig on both the suction and discharge lines (appears the pressure has equalized across the compressor). I have checked voltage at the compressor connection and there is voltage going to the compressor. I have also checked continuity and the ground is good as well. I cannot locate a suction pressure switch to see if it is bad or not. Also, I have found the relay panel but cannot tell which relay controls the a/c. Any help would be appreciated. The clutch will not cycle at all. I have read that some models only have one wire going to the compressor and the compressor is grounded to the vehicle. To check for continuity they said to place one lead of the meter to the center of the compressor and the other lead to a good ground. I did this and had a good ground. The blower comes on but just blows ambient temperature air. See less

HI! Please check the fuse under the hood inline on the fender of the driver's side. Try to pull it out and check if its broken. Almost every car's compressor is located on this side. HOpe this helps and have a good one!

Air conditioner suddenly stopped working on my 2003 passat wagon glx 4 motion

Possibly. Check for the proper amount of freon in the system. There are pressure sensing switches that stop the compressor as a safety measure.

Air conditioner relay location 2004 passat

hi,
the a/c pressure switch is located to the left side of the condenser radiator, as you stand in front of the vehicle. you may have to remove the bumper in order to get access to this switch.
there are 2 relays dealing with the a/c , numbers 16 and 17, on the relay plate at the drivers knees, the plastic panel will have to come down. 16 is the clutch relay and 17 is a/c control module.
hope this is of some help

How do i recharge my air conditioner in my 2004 Volkswagon R32 . The a/c condenser goes on but the air does not get cold. i can buy the a/c charger at walmart but dont know where or how to charge it......

1. check your refrigerant pressure and if the reading is below 20 psi then ur gas is less
2. locate low pressure service port that reads L
3. start engine/ turn ac on
3. recharge gas to max pressure between 20 and 40 psi max.
4. feel the low pressure line if its cooling while ac is running...the job is done...

The oil pressure is low because the engine isn't running? Have you checked for spark?

I have a 1999 Volkswagon Passat. The air conditioner works great at night or when the outside air temp is below 80°; it will put out 55° air. But during the day it will only put out 10°...

check to see if you have a cabin air filter and if it is dirty have it replaced at a local auto shop.. if that isnt the problem and the freon level is correct then you will have to live with it.. a/c are concidered effiectient if they cool 20* below ambiant tempature.. personally i would say have the freon level/quality checked again

Oil pressure

30 PSI hot idle is ok, 40-50 PSI at freeway speeds hot is good. this is based on using the correct weight of oil which is 10W-30W
