1 of two things. They are hyd lifters so there is no adjustment to be done. So it is either a lack of oil pressure or an odd thing but does happen, a small piece of derbis will get into the pressure bleed hole, the oil is push out as the camshaft comes up to open the valve, the lifter will collapes and not re-pump up due to the hole being closed off. Im quite sure AMG rquires Mobil1 oil, sometimes extream temps either higher or lower will change viscosity requirements. you may need the 15W 50 to maintain enough pressure where you are at or it is possible the oil is broke down so bad that it is no longer able to maintain the correct amount of PSI. 1st things first. Put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on the motor, observe pressure after complete warm up. If it is too low go to the 15W 50 weight oil. If it is an oil pressure issue two things should happen. 1 the lifter making noise should be farthest from the pump. If not you should do a very carefull inspection check psi with mechanical gauge 1st if it's low, then you'll have to find the causeor cause. if psi is within spec you have a bad lifter IE: dirt or collapsed spring.

Also i wil add im not a big fan of any supercharged engine. The blower is cooled with the oil from the motor. it is no secrete that they are very abusive to the oil for that reason, and it is because a compressed air system generates a LOT of heat hence the fast and sever oil break down. Do tell me you are using Mobil 1oil. If not you should be and that is a good part of the cause of the lifter making noise i would be willing to bet.

Your switch has either died, blew a fuse, or the window motor is stuck., Check the easiest one first. Pull the switch out and inspect if for broken wires or damage. Next check the fuses. if all good, pull the door panel off and try tapping of the window motor with a small hammer or metal bar. This will jar it loose from the "dead spot" much like a starter motor

2005 SL55 AMG. 68,000 miles. Just got the car. Issues with transmission. If you floor it, it seems to go into neutral, the engine and tach rev out, and once you are stopped in park, it is fine.

Possible torque converter going bad. The torque converter connects the engine to the transmission through the drive shaft.

Also, check that the auto transmission fluid is topped off. Low fluid can cause the symptom described, as the torque converter is filled and works with auto transmission fluid.

Good luck on this repair.

E55 amg not starting

sounds like a major vacuum leak. I would check the hose going to the brake booster(there is a check valve that can fail in that hose as well).

Check your spark plugs to make sure they are dry. If they're wet they'll extinguish the spark before it can make contact with the fuel, thus preventing starting. If your plugs are really wet, leave them out of the cylinder heads and use compressed air to dry the combustion chamber and plugs. If compressed air is not available, leave them open to air dry. Once everything is dry, reconnect your spark plugs and try to start again.

Changing the furl filter on my 2003 Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG

Hi

It´s under the car, next to the fuel pump, near the rear diff, on the passenger side. You cant miss it, and its easy to change, just make sure the car is supported safely on axle stands, catch any excess fuel from the old filter in a container, and no smoking !

Don´t forget to give me a FixYa rating Please !!!!!!

Good Luck

Pro & con

Upside Sleek and dignified design inside and out, pleasing blend of ride and handling, powerful V8 engines, sophisticated safety features, all-wheel drive available on both sedans and wagons. Downside More expensive than competitors, confusing control layout, electronically controlled brakes lack progressive feel. What's New for 2007 Most of the changes to the 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class relate to engine upgrades. Mercedes' AMG division has renamed last year's E55 AMG as the E63 AMG in light of its more powerful 507-hp V8 engine.
