SOURCE: I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu Maxx, engine ligth is on

If this is the first time the light has come on more than likely its the O2 sensor. If you want to find the code go to a Murrys Auto parts store and rent the scan tool or maybe a local auto repair shop with scan it for you for free.

Hope this helps U

SOURCE: Stuck plug wires

Too funny! You're not being a girl, sometimes those boots are really on there solid! You can try spaying WD 40 on the boots to soften them up. Let it sit for a little while to penetrate the rubber. Make sure you pull only on the boots and not the wires themselves or you'll be replacing wires and plugs. It's okay to twist the boots while you're pulling on them. A little force should break them free. Best of luck

SOURCE: Factory remote start on 2004 Malibu Maxx stopped working

Fixed!!! I had several problems with my wife's remote start/lock/unlock/trunk/ panic. First it stopped working, i replaced the battery to find out that the battery holder inside the remote had broken solder at two points. Went to Harbor Freight bought a solder gun for $5 and solder wire for about $2. Once home i soldered the points back together (first time i've ever soldered anything). Put the new battery in and it didn't work. I pulled the whole thing apart and took the circuit board and touched the contacts where the button would have pushed at with a piece of metal. They locked and unlocked the car. So i knew at that point that the rubber thing was jacked. i got some tin foil and 5minute epoxy. Then i clued little tiny squares on the little black Nipples where they would contact the circuit board. Waited 6 minutes and put back together. Found out that if you start the car twice with out puting the key in the ignition you can't use the remote start. After putting the key in the ignition and starting it you reset the system and can remote start again. Dealer wanted 114 for the key remote and 54 to reprogram the remote to the car. I fixed my factory remote for under $20. Hope this helps someone

I have a 98 Malibu and my brake lights aren't working. Bulbs are fine. Where is the fuse box for rear brake lights. The center brake light works.

check brake light switch on back top of brake pedal. it may not be getting any power or it may be out of adjustment or bad. the fuses are in under hood fuse box.

When i start my 04 chevy malibu its shuts back off what could that be?

here are a few things to check, loose or damaged wires in ignition system, or ignition it self. intake vacuum leaks or in vacuum hoses, faulty emission controls. check ignition switch. it maybe bad and not letting power through, thus causing it to die.
