Question about 2003 Cadillac CTS

I have a leak on top of the engine from a three way connector - it appears to be spewing anti freeze all over the engine compartment. What is the part name so I can go buy it? What are these hoses routing coolant to?

I have a leak on top of the engine from a three way connector - it appears to be spewing anti freeze - there is a three way connector with hoses and one of the hoses going into that connector broke at the junction.

One of the hoses going from this Tee goes to the overflow tank for the radiater...I just need to know what to ask for when buying the replacement parts, and what I might need.

That tee you may call it is incorporated into one part so you need to replace it. It is call a heater hose

Hi

What parts of the engine bay are wet? Is there any antifreeze leaking into the interior (most likely on the passenger side, front)?
If it's in the interior, that would mean it's probably the heater core. That could be expensive, because those are not usually easy to replace.
If it's not, then you're in luck. Worst case is you need a new radiator. The radiator can be expensive, but they're easy to replace.
Just check every coolant hose (they're usually fairly large black rubber hoses, at least 3/4 inch wide, up to around like 2 inches for the main hoses) and make sure none of them are leaking. Actually, they're getting on in years, if they don't look perect you should just replace them all.
Then look at the radiator and make sure it's not leaking from there. It is not hard to track down a coolant leak if it isn't the heater core.

When you're checking hoses, don't forget, there are hoses that run from the engine compartment to the passenger compartment, for the heater core. Those might be easy to miss. Probably they'll be at the back of the engine compartment, running from the engine block.

Let us know if you have something more to know else accept the suggestion.

WHEN HEATER TURNED ON AND ENGINE WARM I SMELL ANTI- FREEZE CAN NOT LOCATE LEAKS

Are you able to see if it is the heater core? Located in dash on passenger side. Can often see them from bottom of the dash if you stick your head down by the floor boards.

I've been getting an anti-freeze smell in the cabin. Today, the windshield began to fog slightly with a terrible anti-freeze odor. This afternoon, the engine was running much hotter than usual. I...

if you r getting smell in car and fog on windshield, with known history for common problem, you have a heater core leaking, You could try a stop leak from a parts supplier, but you need a heater core, and is a rather big job, as entire dash needs to be pulled back to axcess

try stop leak, if that doesn't fix, you didn't waste alot of time and money

good luck, and if you wanna tackle job, let me know i will send guided steps to help you along

My 2001 mercury sable is loosing anti-freeze, I do not see any signs of it leaking but when I am sitting idle at a stop light steam appears to come from under the passenger side of the engine compartment....

You have a small leak, probably in the radiator. You do not see drips because the coolant is leaking onto hot engine or exhaust parts or the hot radiator, and evaporating. This is why you see steam.

Anti-freeze smell inside car interior when engine is on, why? Could it be related to the interior air filter? There is no visible anti-freeze leaks inside the compartment, and none outside of the car.

No. the cabin air filter filters out the pollution from the outside of the vehicle, i.e. pollen, smog, ect. The number one cause is usually the heater core. It could be leaking or a loose hose might be causing it.

IT APPEARS TO BE LEAKING ANTI FREEZE AT REAR AXLE HOW TO FIND OUT WHY AND FIX ON MY OWN

let me guess this vechile has rear heat right? Go under and look for two lines running from the engine compartment to the rear. Both lines will be about an inch, one might be bigger then the other. Find, follow, locate leak, then you can cut the line where it's leaking and place a rubber hose in and DOUBLE hose clamp each end. FYI, anitfreeze will drain out when you cut the line..........have a bucket ready to catch and reuse.

Leaking anti freeze

If you are not seeing any coolent of the floor when parked, the chances are that you may have an internal engine leak, such as leaking thru headgasket and coming out as steam. Take your van to PepBoys for pressure testing for which they carge about $40.

Leaking anti-freeze from under the engine

More info needed. Is the leak coming from around the pass side of engine, drivers side of engine, radiator area or firewall area. A specific quadrant of the engine compartment would help narrow it down some. if it is leaking from the engine itself, there may be some expense in repairs (water pump possibility here.) Hoses usually are not that hard or difficult to replace. Radiators get real expensive real quick. Please update Engine compartment Quadrant if possible
