Question about 2008 Chevrolet Malibu

1 Answer

I recently purchased a key blank for my 2008 Malibu over the internet. I then had it cut by a local key cutter. The new key works fine, except it won't start the engine, and some kind of padlock, security light comes on. Is there anything I can do?

Porsche keys Hi, thanks in advance for hopefully answering my question, We've just purchased a 1989 928 Porsche and only have one key for it. We're in New Zealand and it seems there is NO where that

Find the Porsche dealer service centre / parts department as they will have replacement keys and probably a key cutting and programming machine.

I bought a 2003 Chevy Malibu for my daughter and it only came with one key. How can I get another? Is there the famous chip in the key?

Yes, most cars went to electronic keys in the '90's. Go to your local Ace Hardware store. They have a gadget that can identify if your key has a chip and what resistance it has, and, if they have a blank, they can cut one for you.
The dealer is more expensive.

1995 911 car keys

Buy yourself a replacement key blank for the Porsche 911 993 - then simply take it to a key cutter and get it cut by them to match your existing key. Be aware that the blank is specific to the 993 variant and although some of the earlier models blanks are cheaper they will not work.

Hope that helps
